I actually wanted to see this one myself tbh cause someone did jagdtiger vs original M1 hull armor and it actually made it all the way to the back plate and even dented it. Full bore AP of significant caliber seems to be shockingly effective against composite armor. Pretty damn sure the 279 will pen.
I will admit as a T95/T28 driver I would still not only try take on a P1000 but even if I did get penned/vaporized I would likely first blame my angle rather than my armors weakness. For a T95/T28 driver knows in their heart that so long as everything shooting at you is in front of you, you are nigh invincible.
It's the 283mm L/54.5, which had about 600mm of pen at 500m which is considered point blank range for naval guns. Btw, the range of a Naval gun is so much that the penetration can drop down to 1/6 or even less( depending how much range the gun has)of the point blank number.

I think if it would be sent to frontlines it would receive engine upgrade almost surely. We have a survivor bias going on with these prototype vehicles where people assume it would surely remain in the configuration it had during pre-trials, while we know from development of almost every other tank (that entered actual service) that this is not the case
@@czwarty7878 you do not really need a better mobility in the role it was designed for. after all a bunker isn'T going to retreat or run away, and you are also likely not going to advance even at it's blazing fast 13 km/h top speed
