Or just have him as Hans twin. Everything considered, they found a near perfect way to wrap up Brian's arc with Furious 7. Besides some shoddy cgi work in certain areas - like when they're driving off after leaving Mr. Nobody in the desert, the film still works well. With the extra year provided, they were able to rework parts of the plot in a generally smooth way.
    I actually prefer this ending to Brian than the one originally planned, besides the obvious emotional core to it, this actually makes more sense - I've noticed a trend with blockbusters where a character is just like "yeah, I can balance both of my lives," without putting any work in, and Furious 7 was almost guilty of that. In the years since, one thing I prefer the series hadn't done, was constantly bring up this ending, instead of letting Brian's legacy end there, it feels like there getting closer & closer to just bringing him back with some awkward cg model.

    • @theurbanyouth
      @theurbanyouth 4 месяца назад +2

      But they just throw it out there Brian is quitting the lifestyle, there's no scenes or feeling he wants to quit, it feels so jarringly erupt, the ending is just thrown in for fan service. They should have just had it where he wasn't quitting, and maybe for the sequel explain he's not there for some good reason. They'd already done sequels where the main characters are absent, so it wouldn't have been so different.

    • @nonaborhan7269
      @nonaborhan7269 4 месяца назад +4

      @theurbanyouth imo, it wasn't out of nowhere. The movie shows us scenes of his family being put in danger, like when the house is blown up, which is why he sends them away to safety. You could also see his priorities begin to somewhat shift with Fast 5, when he finds out his gonna be a father, but of course, he gets pulled into the adventure in 6&7. But there are hints that he's worried about what that lifestyle means to him & his family, like when he speaks to Mia in the garage.

    • @DarrellQuinlan-ju6fj
      @DarrellQuinlan-ju6fj 3 месяца назад +2

      @nonaborhan7269 it was written that way because he died they had to change the script, (mia having another bby). thats pauls brother in that scene, whereas if he didn't die they would've showed scenes of him wanting to leave

    • @theurbanyouth
      @theurbanyouth 3 месяца назад

      @@nonaborhan7269 Have you not watched any of the movies, or have you only seen that scene alone and not even watched the previous movies or even Furious 7 where they're flying through buildings with their cars filled with danger? They all go through far more danger throughout the series, having their friends die or thought to be dead, but they still continued on, so that scene isn't convincing that Brian would give up when they've been through even worse, especially when there's no real exposition from Brian that he wants to quit or a feeling he's gonna give it up, other than us knowing from behind the scenes the actor isn't there anymore. Him having a family isn't really much reason, when its essentially an over the top action movie series where characters with family are putting themselves into danger all the time, even after losing their family. And Brian wasn't suppose to be retired initially, which narratively would have made far more sense.

    Furious 7 was the first film I've EVER seen in the franchise and because of that ending, it really ended up resonating with me the most. Not because of Walker's death coaligning with the ending, but because of how much it brought back so much of how much *I* lost people close to me. And that ending really became more true as I lost my aunt just close to a year prior to this releasing.
    The pain was still vehemently strong at the time and with that relatable loss, it really ended up making this film so much more important than it ever had to be. Especially for someone that's never seen the previous films before.

      I enjoy it being around Paul Walker's character and keeping Dom as the more mysterious character. Idk how to explain it but as a character who helps and inspires Brian and makes him question his own decisions, like in the first one, would have made him a more interesting character to watch, closer to what he was in the first film and made him the fan favorite.
      Instead of making him the center of the story, it doesn't work like the original idea. Fans loved the character but then didn't left us wanting more, we got too much and he got annoying.

      @@elharvey5032 Rob Cohen, the director, came up with an idea to do a film centered around the illegal underground street racing of L.A., and casted Paul Walker, whom the two had worked together in their previous movie the Skulls, as his lead. Paul Walker wanted to do a movie where he played 1. An undercover cop and 2. he got to race cars, so Cohen developed this film for him. The Fast and the Furious ALWAYS started out as street racing.
      Paul Walker stated when referring to where the fast franchise has gone, “Now it’s not just a car movie. It’s a heist movie. It’s an action movie. I jokingly ask, ‘Where else is there to go?’ Unless our cars start turning into robots,” he quipped. Even the lead star referred to the original films as racing films.

    Hearing what they originally planned not with the character of Brian but also stuff where Letty secretly had a miscarriage and that was the reason for her regaining back her memories, introducing Brian's father and giving the Tokyo Drift cast more to do makes me wonder how differently the franchise would have received. Because currently the Fast and Furious franchise is seen as a dumb fun popcorn experience but all of these ideas probably would have helped ground it and keep the serious tone in check. Similar to Wonder Woman, Black Panther, Shazam, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Dark Knight, No Way Home, Shang Chi where on a face value level they look like just generic superhero movies but when watch and analyze them they so much more than that. They have great story telling, relatable characters and well meaning messages that can resonate people. I feel like the Fast and the Furious franchise could have become that as well and in the beginning even when they did outlandish stuff there was still that relatability. We may never know for sure but it's always fun to speculate.

    Man,i would love to seen these fast and furious over the ones we have,paul and vin were the best of this series,which is why some fans didn't like 2 and 3 back then or 8-10, because didn't either paul or vin. The start this franchise together and dynamic between two were the goat.
    Rip paul Walker 😢

    Ever since Paul died I've felt his character deserved proper closure. Here's my idea with Braga as the antagonist. Becoming a father made Brian realize how important family is so he searches out his father and discovers he has a younger half brother (played by Cody Walker). While connecting with his brother in the DR (no extradition lol), Braga, who has escaped from prison, finds them and kills Brian. Cody searches out Mia who brings in the whole gang to go after Braga once and for all.

    It feels like every movie after Furious 7 was directed by Vin Diesel even though they were directed by F. Gary Gray, Justin Lin and Louis Leterrier respectively it feels like he directed them himself because of the amount of creative control he has on the franchise. Vin Diesel wanted to direct Fate Of The Furious but Universal didn’t like that so they hired F. Gary Gary to direct instead

    I think that even if Paul Walker had lived, Furious 7 could've been the true ending of the franchise. It's too bad that we never got to see it as originally planned. It might be possible that Johnny Tran survived getting shot, maybe his cousin Lance found him. Carter Verone had a grudge against both Brian and Roman. Takashi, aka D.K. would also want payback against Han and Sean. Arturo Braga gets freed from prison to go after Dom, Brian and Gisele. Also, Sean Boswell was originally supposed to join Dom's crew and go after Deckard Shaw. If Paul Walker hadn't gone for a ride in the 2005 Porche Carrera GT during November 2013, the original villain's team-up would have been amazing to see and that could have been the main plot for Fast and Furious 8. If they were to have the original four villains return in 2026 for Furious 11. That would be a huge mistake, because they would be wondering why Brian is in hiding. The only two people that I want to see come back for the final movie, are Jesse and Leon. They could've been the ones to play the main villains of Fast 9 or Fast and Furious 10.

    Here's a suggestion for an October
    video: *The Original Plans*
    *for "An American Werewolf in Paris"*
    The first idea was a sequel treatment
    by the original film creator John Landis which centers on Debbie Klein (an unseen character who was mentioned in the first film) getting a job in London and investigating the deaths of David & Jack. Plus, the characters of Alex Price, Dr. Hirsch & Sgt. McManus were to return as well. Polygram Pictures still wanted to do a sequel, but Landis was unwilling to do a second treatment and told them to make the film without him.
    Another draft by writer/director
    John Lafia was about a schoolteacher
    in Paris who holds forth on good
    & evil in a class he teaches. He gets
    attacked by a lycanthrope and goes
    through the expected changes,
    while on his trail is Dr. Hirsch from the
    first film who's working on a werewolf serum.
    Then there's the original vision (of
    what became the final film) by
    Tom Stern & Tim Burns (with Stern
    himself initially set to be the director)
    which was about Andy McDermott,
    a 22-year-old American who is called
    from his vacation in Spain to Paris,
    France as his uncle was savaged by a
    unknown beast in the story's opening.
    Against the wishes of his uncle's
    beautiful assistant Serafine, Andy
    investigates the attack on his uncle,
    which takes him deep into Paris'
    underground rave culture, finding
    himself on psychedelics in a network
    of creepy underground caves where
    he is then chased and bitten by a werewolf (later revealed to be Serafine).

    Movies 5 & 6 did a great job in changing the formula of the franchise while still focusing on the fast cars and the fact that the characters are street level criminals. Both films had the characters out of their element, while faced with new challenges that tied into the story and their motivations. But movie 7 was the start where they just became action heroes doing spy work when they really didn't have to and suddenly capable of superhero feats.

    You got sources for the stuff in the video man? I followed the fast films closely from an industry pov and I have never read anything about Brian asking for his character to be killed off or not wanting to come back for furious seven until meeting James wan. Also saying Sean woulda been the one to drive the car to drift to save Brian in that one scene just sounds far too specific a detail for anyone not directly involved with the film to know.
    WHERE did you get this info lol. Post your sources

    I found FF7 to be a disappointment. Yes the ending montage was real nice. But other than that, it's not that interesting as a movie. 6th one ended with Statham showing up and killing one of the core cast members, thus establishing himself was a real threat. And yet 7 has a forgettable main villain with his own squad of henchmen, and Statham just sort of pops in and out a few times. He should have been the big bad who moves the plot forward, but as it stands, his brother in the last movie was more of a central antagonist than he is. Also, it's a nitpick, but I really think Paul should have had the big hero shot of the movie. You know, when Vin Disel risks his life to attack the grenades to the chopper, I think it should have been Paul who shot at them, thus bringing the main villain down. You know, one last bit of epic teamwork between those two. But instead The Rock got the money shot, despite being in bed for 70% of the movie. I guess he was a bigger star, so he took the honor.
