There is no proper incentive in modern day football. You can be a pretty average player and happily live on £5k a week in a lower league with a side hobby. It used to only be the premier league players on £100k+ and it was the top of the top. You can earn a decent yearly wage playing in the 3rd/4th/5th divisions now in most countries and hold a second job. lol Why bother pushing to be the best when you can easily be better than average?
"You can earn a decent yearly wage playing in the 3rd/4th/5th divisions in most countries". You're out of your damn mind if you really think this is even remotely close to the truth. Let me guess, you're english aren't you? Because that's one of the very few countries in the entire world where that's possible. Most countries only have 1 or 2 professional leagues, 3 at best. The rest is semi pro or fully amateur clubs who will pay you flat zero. Just as an example, Italy has always been a football powerhouse but in their third tier, Serie C, a player's average income is £46k a year, before taxes. After taxing, they get around £3k a month, which for italians is just slightly above average. And since they're full time employees, Serie C players can't have a side job to complement their earnings. Now, imagine how it goes in their lower divisions or in most other countries which have much less robust football systems. Your statement is only true for England and, to a lesser extent, Germany and maybe France. For the rest of the world, in anything lower than 2nd tier there's almost no money to be made. I'll give you another example: Portugal currently has one of the strongest national teams and portuguese people breathe, eat and shit football. Yet, in the portuguese second tier, most players get somewhere between 1k and 2k a month, which is just around 30% more than the portuguese minimum wage. Anything below their 2nd tier and you'll be lucky if you get a very rare performance prize of a couple hundred bucks. And it's more or less the same in The Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland and basically any other country that isn't England or Germany.
@UCL-ssf_yRS04R4UgBTbeIpw Yes I am from the UK where the national average salary is around £29,000 a year so in Italy's 3rd tier division you would almost be doubling the UK average wage so my point still stands. You can earn that amount in lower tier football across the World too (Germany, France, China, USA, England, Italy, Netherlands) not just in the UK and you would still be above the national average wage just for kicking a bag of air. My original point was that there isn't enough incentive for players to become great or the best like they used to because you can earn the same as a bricklayer or receptionist playing lower level football.
My mate moved to Holland to play in their 3rd division and was getting paid more than his full time job in the UK, its mad what you can earn in the lower tiers!

they way fergie and mour handled players was incredible this is why they were so good as players wernt puusy they were men.
At united fergie had fully backed by David Gill. Mourinho was not enough backed by Ed Woodward. He choosed virus than his manager.
@@nicowidjaja2538 100% i the guy won 2 cups for us maybe not the biggest but it was a start and then they didn't back him was wierd the way the treated him i believe he could of been really great for us.
@@rodeo9598 👌
Also fergie had a lot of players from late 90s early 00s still play for him. They had winning mentality.

This was when Mourinho knew how to manage a team.
I don´t know if he got lazy or accomodated, but he does seem to have lost his touch.
He still the same but play now are to soft
Im sure it was a good story, but my slow brain could not keep up with the subtitles
Same
Slow down the video speed.. 0,75x
Respect..
What a team that was!
Legenda
He tried to do the same with Mesut Ozil but that didn't work out pretty well... that's why he called Ozil a bitch or something like that.
Mate, what are you on about? Mesut Ozil's best years were under Mourinho. Read his book.
^I'm pretty sure you both don't understand what I'm talking about. Ozil dind't took those things positive like Costinha did. I never said Ozil was good or bad, I just said as a character he couldn't handle Mourinho's ways. Peace!

@@cuffnuffthe9th787 Amin.
Actually it worked with Ozil. Mesut loves Jose. And he played his best football with him.
Cosa vostra
Porto Porto Porto
As a Man United fan this bought back bad memories of going out of the CL to Porto and the football I had to watch under Jose's management.
This is what happen with Pogba... it’s exactly what happen and they ended up winning the FA Cup and the Europa League
or maybe he was just tryna tell off a spoiled footballer who thinks he can do anything he wants
Lmao... This is stuff for a good movie... Coach did a player wrong but was humble enough to regret his action... but was not sure how to win the player back and only able to do it awkwardly. Luckily, Costinha was man enough to accept.
Both wins champions league together. 😆
Roll credits.
Eu olho para o Costinha só me lembro do creme que o Cândido comprou por 435€ 😂😂

Whenever someone says "I'm strong mentally " I have to question that statement. That amount of things he can't remember far outway the things he "can remember " he has been heading the ball too much. BUUUUUULLLLSHITTER!
@Cian MacGana nobody is ! Its total bullshit from an inbred moron. But youd know ALL about that!
Actions speak louder than words, the fact is he was there for every training session and gave it all on during the matches despite thinking he was getting sacked

Falta do Nistelrooy antes do golo.
