I've really been having fun using the sound on sound looper in the El Capistan. I miss doing simple looping like this with the DL4, and the El Capistan does it really well and has some cool features.
The only pedals used in this video were the Diamond Compressor, Goodrich L-120 volume pedal, MXR Carbon Copy, Strymon El Capistan and Strymon blueSky. Amps were a Matchless Chieftain and Fender Blues Jr. Guitar was a 1978 Fender Telecaster Deluxe.
And yes, I realize there's quite a bit of noise. Not sure where it's coming from at the moment, it might be my new (old) guitar.
If you're interested in the pedal settings and how I was tweaking stuff toward the end, see this video: • Strymon El Capistan an...
Thanks for watching! Видеоклипы
There's nothing better when you're a little bit drunk, you come back home, you sit in front of your computer at night and listen to this heavenly music.
Cheers man
when i see this guy playing music is like i forget the earth problems and see what we can do it gives me hope to move on...
Nicely said 🙏
You've inspired me over the years. Coming back from the massive pedals and whatnot this shows what musical skill and soul does to a simple ambient guitar jam.
holy crap you are using the Strymon. Goodbye plans for the Eventide. Hello Capistan. Man, if you ever grow weary of endless comments (like mine) and the business of answering everyone, I just want to assure you that you are such a blessing and help to all of us! Thank you so much for your service to other musicians. Keep on!
This is nice. Especially the melody. Looks like I'll have to get an El Capistan to go along with the Blue Sky.
I still love this song!
god damn, this is one of the more beautiful things you can do with a guitar. its just breath taking
These videos never disappoint.
This is choking me up and giving me goosebumps. I love music, but that's rare with just a guitar playing. Dang.
oh god! when you changed the Time knob on the El Cap... I just exploded in goosebumps!
awesome! beautiful use of delay and volume swells, and amazing guitar layering.
Its like... I wana move on to other videos but I just cant stop playing this over and over...
I have the blue Sky and now I'm getting the El Capistan because of you, now i just need to learn how to use it.
Did you ever figure it out?
You,sir, are fucking awesome.Best music I've ever heard. You have a gift from God.Thank God for RUclips, thank you for improving your skills...
Beautiful! Love it! If that doesn't seal the deal on an El Capistan, I don't know what would!
Elegant and beautiful!
Absolutely gorgeous, nice job.
Will forever be my favorite video featuring the el capistan and blue sky.
great job Andy, another awesome song of yours.
This is so refreshing to anyone's ears.
I cant tell if its happy or depressing, I think thats why I like it so much :)
Killer sounds man! I'm obsessed with that amp too
this is literally the most beautiful guitar sound i've ever heard. well done.
I've been watching your videos for quite a while now, and I really, really enjoy them. None of them disappoint. And I really like the fact that you serve God, and I can tell that in your music. Keep it up!

I've had this on repeat all day. I feel like I'm underwater listening to this.

the noise you mentioned, i think its adds something cool to the overall sound. like waves, or a constant breeze. i love your music.
This song is so anointed!
Favorite video so far.....I'm getting a BSR soon! Have the money just waiting for them to come back in stock!
Awesome, Strymon makes amazing pedals
So good. Like crazy good.
Gorgeous.
This is amazing!
Beautiful sound. Reminds me of dirty three
i love how you used the pedals to modulate the sound. nice one :)
This is a god damn masterpiece. Thank you...thank you
@GunnerRecall33 i cheated a little bit and used izotope's denoiser plugin.
I went out and bought a volume pedal last week because of these videos.
Thank you, Andrew. You made my... night :) greetings from Russia, where it's almost tomorrow already.
Love your music!
phenomenal. thank you.
More amazing everytime I watch this.
Most epic joint rolling music ever!
This is the reason I practice everyday, I want sound like that.
Reminds me of Eric Sierra's or Daniel Lanois's music, beautiful!
@amarr1 All right, seriously, I cannot get enough of this one. Thank you youtuberepeater!
Very good sound.
Really miss this stuff man.
and this randomly poped out to me after 9 years
amazing!
Strymon pedals are amazing
Alright! Records they bring the funk
very nice sound
amazing man
Thiiis was beautiful.
all I can say is: AMAZING!
Wow! Me likey! I hear breathy Julie Cruise vocals on top. PROFIT!!!
goodrich volume pedal rules.
probably the smoothest volume pedal out there.
my only complaint is that the outputs and inputs are all on one side.
THIS is awesome maaaaan :) :)
awesome!
nice job!
Andy Soothling 🙂
exelent man this is asowme
@switchfan4 thank you!
@pickle808 not glass... it's chrome/metal?
@scorpguitar79 i attached a flip cam to a mic stand
what an ending!!!
This is fucking gorgeous.
Well for starters, the Blue Sky is a reverb pedal, the El Capistan is a tape voiced digital delay and the Timeline is a multi-moded digital delay.
@41224jason make sure your repeats knob isn't all the way up... make it just high enough so that it's not decaying, but too high will make it start getting saturated and distorted really fast.
@soapboxracer182 I honestly hate shimmer sounds, I think they're really cheesy. I use the BSR for big plate and room sounds and leave the RV5 on modulate mode.
If you click on the "Pedal settings/rig info video here" you can find out that he is indeed using the Reverberator and that his guitar is an American 1978 Telecaster Deluxe, if I remember correctly.
The compressor is made to put a limit on the volume so when you play at your loudest, it will always be about the same volume. Google Compressor to see how it works with audio.
Really liking this song, I hope you don't mind me using it in a short video? I'll post it as a response to this anyway.
@AcousticLabs nice
very cool!! :D
amanzing!!!
dude this is the most relaxing sound ever. one question what do u need to make such beautiful sounds like that?
I wish this was available for download..
@bassandguitargreg Yeah I saw his other video and read the description. Doh!
Thanks!
wonderfull
@ihaveaverybadcold the delay was from the carbon copy... you can't use the delay on the el capistan while you are looping.
MAgic!
The barefoot, young professional, short haircut, non-parallel board with a volume pedal Andy. Things sure have changed.
@benbrown4544 he's probably going mono into the el cap because it only has mono inputs then stereo out into the blue sky with stereo ins.
I just gave the 1000th Thumbs up!
@elementdriv3r You need a PP2+ and put the strymon in inputs 5 or 6 on normal setting....If you not you have to use the plug in the back.
Spot on lad :)
love the thing at 3:50
This is what heaven will sound like.
