My guests have been, as a rule, pretty good except one recent clown, that decided my airport delivery options weren’t what he wanted, and dropped off the car on the airport grounds and then gave me my first 3 star review because he didn’t like my options, and apparently thought every Turo host has or should have the same options? Nice Flexing in the GT500. Pro-tip : Mini-Split the garage and add a door insulation kit. It’s freekin’ Texas 🥵
Missed this! The door is insulated but of course with small gaps on either side of the door and heat, compounding heat from the attic and poor insulation there will be a alot of things to fix but A/C in the garage sounds like a dream 😩
Damage control! Keeping an eye on when vehicles come back, and trying to get ahead of it when we can or at least accommodating other renters in a similar or better car before they are even affected.
left the keys in the lockbox with the code unscrambled (how convenient) but I have successfully made a spare for every single car and we always bring them JUUUUUUUST in case
the nozzle doesn't even fit in the regular gasoline hole!? that takes some effort. but luckily most shops should be able to pump that out and you'll be back on the road with minimal time and damage!
HP is so clutch… saving you tons of money & time! Finished the job within the hour.. i bet you had a trip shortly afterwards. Attacking the little issues before they become big is what makes me envious lol. Do you think it would be in my best interest as a turo host, to start investing my time into becoming a part time mechanic?
thanks for the kind words! honestly I think learning any trade and getting out of your comfort zone only leads to great things. but for Turo absolutely! you can fix almost anything when you throw enough money at a repair shop and there is no shame in that. but when you can save your self time AND money and you get the satisfaction of knowing that you did it all yourself there is no better feeling. in short, yes. start learning small maintenance things, oil changes, tire rotations, engine air filter changes. and then work your way up!
Do you think it's okay to do the brakes even if not a licensed mechanic? I've always done the brakes on my own car but concerned there would be a liability issue if I do it on a Turo car and something happens?
Licensed smicensed. not to be that person but any repair facility only has MAYBE one technician that is an ASE certified technician so they can operate. other than that qualifications are all experienced based. I take my maintenance and repairs very seriously and make sure that what I am doing is done right. and because I do things myself I know they are done right. you are responsible for the car whether you worked on it, or a technician worked on it, or the manufacturer worked on it.
That must be so frustrating for you guys, but also to the people who got canceled. Do you guys get on a bad review from the people who were supposed to have that car at 7am? How do you guys deal with that?
We have a great low cancellation rate but often times if we can't accommodate the guest with an equal or similar vehicle Turo cancels the trip and we thankfully don't get reviewed or a demerit for missing a trip as they are out of our control, unfortunately. We also make sure that everyone gets a pre-trip end message in case they forget but not everyone gets them or cares for that matter -_-.
I've checked out a few of the videos on your Turo fleet. Thanks for the info, much appreciated
Our pleasure! :) Thank you!!
Eyyy u guys got some great content! Keep up the good work.

Insulation door kit is the new hot lately.... This summer is gonna be a scorcher it seems.

We had a turo car abandoned in Fredericksburg and had to drive down from Fort worth.
Who paid for the inconveniences and how did you know it was abanded ?
there is some good German restaurants in Fredericksburg at least!
How do you keep your ratings up with the abandonments?

Glad we got a GPS tracker
Okay Aubrey, you're a bit rough with the GT500 🤣
Right?! lol
Tbf it was hawt and its the same door handle as an ecoboost. but she was yanking on the door like she was the pohlease
So, did she leave the keys inside or do you have to charge her for a replacement set?
left the keys in the lockbox with the code unscrambled (how convenient) but I have successfully made a spare for every single car and we always bring them JUUUUUUUST in case
If you do not have a extra set that is not good. Yes you will submit a claim to Turo for the price of replacement keys.
Which track is used in the video?
I have problems with this. One of the guests vandalized the car pouring diesel by purpose

The whole turo app is a liability, but at the end up the day, accept the risk what you will. They do all the maintenance on their vehicles.

@@hpspeed8877 I also had a Firestone's ASE mechanic refuse to sign a Turo inspection form. Then what do you do. Might as well do it ourselves.

Are you able charge an abandonment fee??
Improper return fee
@@CarSharingJho nice, good to know!
The GT500 Headliner tho, mine has the same issue and its a GT , they kindda should of added half an inch to it to not do that by the door
How did you get the key from the renter?
We brought a spare but they left the key inside
So did they tell you they were leaving it there? Or?
Sounds like a improper return lol charge them 😆
just like your genetics
Oui
