Karabo's story is one to inspire both the past and coming generations. She inspires both me as one who wished to follow in her path and my daughter who we can guide to follow in her example.
Omg, my faaave likes Mereba 🥺- what an inspiring and affirming chat - our country is so talented and these conversations visibility and practicality to pursuing a creative career. Love to see it👏
Let's Go!!!! What an amazing conversation! Karabo is such an amazing artist and I've been following her work for so long and this interview is so refreshing as it felt organic and unscripted, I heard a different about Karabo's life to what I've heard before. Love it! #inspirational
I have never felt so heard in my entire life especially when she mentioned how she wanted to do something unconventional and and did not want to be in a journey that is already known as it to how it will end up. Also, I am grade 12 student currently, I want to study animation at The Animation School and so hearing her talk about how her parents were not really getting the fact that she would not attend a University to study medicine but rather a private institution to study Graphic design kind of resonates with me. Whenever I tell relatives that I want to study at The Animation School they most of the time like have a face that kind of gives the impression that I am making the worst decision of my life lol. I cannot believe an interview literally made me cry, Thank you for sharing your story, Karabo Poppy.🙌
Shout out for having Karabo. She's very important to our community of black creatives (especially illustrators & graphic designers) and the next generation for representation like she mentioned. There's still a small representation of 'us' simply by the the fact that there's maybe a handful of individuals who I can think of that are at Karabo's level of success.
Awesome interview, I studied 2D & 3D animation have been an animator for 17 years. My Mom was the best all she said was "So obatla ho etsa dipopo Ok do your best" I have since worked as a Video editor, Digital Designer, Graphic Designer, Animator and UX Designer. I wouldnt have done anything else in my life. I solve business visual issues, from ads to social posts. Thanx for the interview
Protect Karabo Poppy at all costs...You are the motivation we need for inspiration!!
