Sometimes it’s best to print a piece in several parts that can be screwed/glued together, so each component can be printed in the strongest orientation. 👍
@@jelly11666 For large pieces, sure. For one-piece parts that aren't that big, it doesn't make sense to re-invent the design. A proper orientation saves all that time!
subscribed about two weeks ago and been catching up thru the years of HemiStorm ... play house for the kids , lung problems and so on... must i say you have bounced back like a champ!!! i really enjoy watching your vids!! i have a body masked off and ready for paint and came here this morning for guidance .... one badd azz channel bro !!
FDM printing is pretty necessary for larger pieces. But as we get further & further into larger SLA printers becoming available (that's where it prints from that gel tub base), I'm telling you that'll be the way to go. I have a buddy who has one. No lines. The prints come out like they're factory molded parts. For example. The ELEGOO Saturn SLA printer currently can print something 8.9 inches which is pretty good. Not bad for a $500 printer. I currently have an Ender Pro FDM printer but for sure the next one i eventually get will be an SLA printer.
Cool vid, can’t wait for the winner of competition to be announced. 🤞 After having a 3D printer for about 18 months, I think it’s a must of a machine for any modeller. I would advise any newbies to RC to hold off from buying that 2nd rig and get a printer instead, you’ll save money hand over fist and won’t have to wait for parts to be shipped. Some of my prints have taken hours and hours, but still quicker than buying from the web. 👍
I expected this video would be about finishing and painting 3D printed parts! I'll bet you end up there eventually, something more than just a printed accessory.
Will this truck become a giveaway 🤔? So excited to see how it comes out! As soon as this truck dropped I really wanted one they look fantastic and potential is endless 👍
Can't tell you how many times I've re-oriented a print before being happy. Definitely something that people need to pay more attention to!

as a new 3d printer user who got one just to do RC parts, I'm completely lost about orientation so I find this info super helpful.
Always a pleasure Chris.
I like this model very much!
Man that’s one great looking Toyota Tacoma!👌😎👍
Just got mine yesterday. Thanks for the 3d printing tips. Cheers.
Hooray for everything!
Cool RC and 3D printed parts
Well you could still use it you can paint it up like a topographical map. That would look really cool
Have my Knightrunner on order at my LHS. So much looking forward to finally take it home. 🤗

Awesome job Chris looks wicked I even like the one with the crazy finish you definitely got that thing figured out wicked truck looking even cooler
Very cool truck man. I love seeing the ability of making your own parts and things.
Can't wait to see more.
Quak Rc got a new name... it was time.
Setting up variable layer hight in your slicer can also help to avoid those coarse layers on top and keep a decent printing speed.
