I love Alex Newell. He's the primary reason gave the TV show "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist" a chance. It is an ensemble cast like Glee was, but we get a lot of Alex vocals as the show goes on...if you want some more Alex in your life (which why wouldn't you?).
Alex is now on the TV show Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist. There is sing on the show you should check it out and this week Alex and Amber are singing the song of the musical Wicked in Concert on PBS this month.
You must check out them singing Independently Owned from the new musical Shucked! One of Alexes best performances IMO. I believe they will get a To y for this performance!

I couldn’t agree more with your talent assessment of the Glee cast. Amber and Alex hit it out of the park every time they open their mouths to sing. Alex, who is nonbinary, has a Tony for their performance in a musical. The person whose name will not be mentioned was cast in a role that she thought was hers, and yet no Tony. She can sing alright. Heck who am I to judge, I can’t carry a note in a bucket. But I know a phenomenal singer when I hear one, and Alex is one such person.
You should watch some Alex's stuff from Zoe's extraordinary Playlist. They are even more impressive and show their growth. And many of the songs were recorded live.

Qieen Latifah sang this number in movie version of Hairspray. It is an extremely difficult piece to sing well. Jennifer Hudson was good. Queen Latifah was fantastic. Alex Newell is beyond compare. I'm trying to imagine Alex and Amber singing a duet. Both are absolutely powerhouses, no doubt. Im just not sure their voices would blend well. That is not to denegrate either of them. They are both so powerful that taming them down would ruin yhe effect.

Lol, it’s taste . Lea may “Broadway her way through everything “, the way Amber “gospels her way through everything “. Like you, I MUCH prefer amber though! lol. This performance by alex is one of the best I’ve ever seen!

Amber can do Broadway too though.. She can also do RnB, rap, soul, pop, classical, and probably a lot of other things too.
Literally amber, Alex and Naya are so much more versatile than Lea and honestly I don’t like Lea's tone
amber has a gospel foundation but she still is able to adjust her vocal techniques/stylistic choices to fit pretty much any genre (even tho youll hear that slight gospel/soul edge to it). lea literally cannot sing anything besides broadway/contemporary power ballads lol
