Been thermos cooking for my lunch at my factory job for years. I just got the idea for multi day backpacking. When you cook your breakfast, throw lunch in the thermos. When you stop for lunch, boil up more water and throw supper in the thermos. Good way to save fuel and time.
I'm pretty sure you're supposed to preheat the thermos with "Boiling" not just hot water first to allow the thermos to heat up.I've tried the exact same recipe (without the jerky) preheating and not preheating the thermos and by far the latter of the two attempts produced much better and hotter results. And always lay the thermos on its side when "cooking"
The hobbies some people have lol. That's cool. But it's crazy to think about all the random stuff people do in their free time. Like maybe one of my co-workers does this on weekends or something.
Yeah I did this after I saw the video and let it sit for like a hour or so. Added a bit too much water but poured a bit out. Works good on those Lipton packets
I've yet to find anything that can finish cooking in under an hour.I've tried just about everything (3 Eggs(soft boiled)/Oatmeal/Mac & Cheese,Rice, etc.)and the best average for all of these is 1 hour and 20 minutes if you want the food to be like home cooked

Should primed your thermos first. Also. Leaving the thermos on its side In you back pack. Makes for a more even cooking.
Solid ideal thank you bro and keep on moving . Best wishes from 🇬🇧
Great tip, Jeremy.

Thanks for the tips.
Lipton is the most common brand of tea here but they ONLY DO tea. Never seen them do those kinds of packs here.

How long did you let it cook for?
I lost track of the time out in the woods. It was a couple hours. However it will usually take 10 minutes for this type of food.

Aaaw! you don't have a titanium spork! I'm gonna tell.
The spork was at home this day, unfortunately.
Knorr not Lipton lol!
Awesome. The soup looked good!
