I have had a Rottweiler myself, and an American Bulldog who almost became Danish Champion before he died. But in the American Bulldog scene in Denmark, we are very strict when it comes to aggressive dogs - Was just wondering how that was with the judges at Rottweiler shows...
I don't really like it that some breeders are bringing forth dogs with shorter muzzle...some are starting to look like bullmastiffs or something rather than the rottweiler I know and love.
Traditionally they have been docked, since they're working dogs and that was done to prevent their tail getting in the way, but now that they're kept more as pets they're getting their tails back. Also I believe docking the tail is banned in some european countries.
Actually they were docked primarily to avoid paying taxes. Farm dogs with tails were taxed, pets without were not. Having a tail doesn’t interfere with their working ability. Never has.
