As the new owner of a 2017 L405 SDV8, I'm loving your videos... very informative. I'm in the middle of replacing my upper & lower thermostat housings (what a nightmare job) as the engine has been very slow to warm-up in the mornings, so I suspected the thermostat may have jammed open. Nope, looks fine after 2 hours of stripping everything down. Both housings are also perfect, but at least they'll be changed anyway (couldn't take the thermostat out by itself as the lower 2 torx bolts holding the cover on were seized). Still have a slow coolant leak to track down, but at least I can rule out anything in the valley area. Oh how I love working on cars (not). Keep up the great work! Nice to see a couple of blokes around my age doing these videos rather than a young 'influencer'!
@@RaymiesGarage thanks, but no intercoolers on it 😄 never mind, I'll get it off in the Spring, and clean it out. Was wondering if it could be cleaned while in place on the vehicle?
Id probably get hold of an EGR blanking plate and see if it still does it, I know it will put it in limp mode eventually but it seems like the EGR is partially jamming open
That's a good shout we had thought it was EGR Valve The charge air crossover valve or the turbine shutoff valve on the secondary turbo or the actuator arms relating to one of the three
Hi There, have you checked to see if the secondary turbo has two oil drains back to the sump, there is a service bulletin, from about 2015 on all SDV8 had two drains on the secondary turbo, early L405 and L322 only had 1 drain. It reduces the about of oil going into the intake track, it’s a tricky job to complete

This is another very good video. Keep them coming. As for Ianuk1975, mine does not seem to be very warm in the mornings, and it's a 2017 model.

I assume you mean the ACE bar bushing , yes its fairly easy
Yes th8nk that's it thanks dave they just said thre anti roll bushes are worn need replacing
