I took the original metal legs off my tv to a metal fabricator and he 3D scanned them and designed longer ones out of metal that match the original legs so now my sound bar fits perfectly under my tv and everything looks oem.
Regarding soundbar blocking, i had the same issue with the center channel for my av receiver. When buying a tv, I specifically didn't buy a tv with a center pedestal since i wouldn't be able to lift it without interfering with the center channel. I bought a Sony with legs on the side that were wider than the speaker so i could put something under the legs to lift the tv. Also if the speakers doesn't really block the tv picture but does block the ir receiver on the tv, then you can use an infrared repeater to send the tv remote signal to the tv even if the front is blocked.
The only problem with VESA pedestal mounts could be that when in combination with screen sizes larger than 65”, the height required to clear sound bar might result in a very top heavy arrangement requiring seismic restraint. Unfortunately with the trend to thinner designs, there’s not always a secure spot high enough on the back panel to ensure such stability I’d use blocks of wood with PSA felt on top of the equipment stand. For wall mounted applications, there are numerous extension brackets available that attach to or under the VESA bracket.
On a pedestal tv you can make a spacer out of wood, veneer or paint it, and put it under the pedestal. Or- just buy a wall mount and decide how much room you need and mount it that way.
I discovered the perlesmith pedestal stands on Amazon a couple of years ago. I Use with one tv to make space for a center channel underneath and on another tv just to raise up on the tv stand to create a more comfortable viewing height. I think these pedestal stands are great for creating space on the shelf under your tv
How is it almost time for CES again already? Does anyone else have whiplash from how fast this year has gone by? Thanks again for another great year of videos Caleb! Happy Holidays!
For a bedroom TV setup, I have a 48" LG C1 OLED with a soundbar mounted underneath it using a soundbar mount that connects to the TV's VESA mount. Then both can be cleanly attached to the wall or floor stand.
Caleb, can I follow up to Pavan's question (because its almost verbatim what I asked as well to you guys) and say that I am a decently large snob of display performance? I also have a $5k budget and im wavering between an elite OLED 83" model, or a mini LED 98" one. Screen size is very important, but so is picture quality. Would you personally buy a slightly lower quality panel but have it be that knockout 98" size? Or would you get the OLED and deal with the smaller screen but get drenched in picture accuracy and color? Or would you recommend something else entirely?
Thanks for explaining dialog quality. I thought it was a fault of the TV/soundbar. Now I know it is the producers who are at fault. What comes out in Netflix, Prime or RUclips for instance is crisp clear dialog. The worst offenders I have found are some British shows on Britbox, Acorn and PBS. The dialog there comes out as deep bass mumbling. Cheers, Peter
Pedestal stand is also a great option when you get a larger tv and don't want to give up your expensive stand last year went from a sony 55 to the 75 a95l
I ran into this issue with my TCL QM8 and Samsung HW-Q990.. I ordered bed frame risers off Amazon and the 4 of them put together in a square almost perfectly matches the base of the pedistal for the TV so they provided the needed height and stability for the TV itself and being black you can't even tell they are there and not OEM stand
It took me foreverrrrr to find a short mounting table so that my C2 could clear my soundbar; I was shocked at the lack of options, but ended up finding a nice stand which is basically a big monitor stand and it matches my TV cabinet well also…. But ya, certainly not many options out there for people who want to raise their tv a bit and still have it aesthetically pleasing!
I don't think any reviewer comes close to the clarity which you are able to give in your reviews. Hats off! If I could bother you with a question, I want to buy a 98 inch TV. My home theatre system consists of Bowers Wilkins speakers. However, my home theatre room is a little narrow, so, on putting up a 98 inch TV, there will be no space left for side speakers. While those speakers could be placed at the backside of the TV on the two sides, my fear is that could compromise audio quality. What are your thoughts? Do you think putting speakers at that kind of position is advisable as a compromise if there is no available space. Currently, my TV is a 65 inch LG OLED of 2020. Thanks in advance, and regards!
Dude, why are you laughing? That's also my budget for one and am planning on getting it in the next few months. A financially responsible individual who is contributing to their 401k, investing, and has funds set aside can easily afford a $5k tv if they want to make that purchase. Why are you laughing at folks who can afford things like that without hurting themselves financially at all?
For a $5000 tv they should make tv shows and movies just for you. Elon Musk money for tvs? If you make $40 or $50 thousand a year, you probably not getting a $5000 tv. You know you can watch the same things on any thing. We all get the same shows and movies , if you pay for some of it you get apps. It's not the quality of the tvs, that's important too, but the quality of what you can watch, that is just as important. But I did pay almost $5000 for 3 tvs since 2020 myself, a qled, a qd oled and a neoqled. And yes, they all look great, in slightly different ways.
Does anyone have a S95D? What’s your feedback on it? I recently bought a brand new 77 Inch S95C from Amazon for $2377 (before taxes.) & I have non stop black out issues while gaming on my PS5. It’s annoying! Now I have to send it back. But I’m afraid to get another S95C because of the black out issues while gaming. So I’m considering the S95D or S90D.
For the wife needing hear the TV, she should consider a good pair of headphones. She can get the exact volume she needs for her hearing situation and the sound won't bother others.
@@jolness1 no. As a hearing aid user myself, it’s not always that the user can’t “hear it” but rather the clarity and the understanding of the dialogue.

Rule breaking lol. Normally I'd preface "unless you are super picky" with caveat "or you often need to watch from off angle." But I guess there is not much space for off-angle with a 98" panel. (You probably will not be folding laundry where a 98" TV is installed, either.)
Great information on the sound bar height verses tv height. This channel is the best for installation about AV equipment. I've learned a lot from watching the show. BRAVO!!!❤🎉😊

How much did that cost you?
@@A.R.B.J. The shop charged me $50 total. The guy that did the work said that 3D technology is what made it that affordable!

Thank you for being transparent on when is the best time to email you guys with the questions. Thank you again for another great episode.
For the soundbar clearance I just use a book under the stand (the soundbar also hides the book) and it was free

Caleb, any plans to do a show concentrated on the technology within a Home Theatre using projectors and sound systems?

@Pavan the highest end Hisense or TCL Mini LED 98" without a doubt.

I ran into the soundbar issue with my 77” Samsung S90C. Easiest solution was to buy a tv stand with a dedicated sound bar shelf.
Want to buy this tv but stand sticks to far out in front. Have Sonos arc. What stand did you buy?
@@croozer30ify can’t remember the model, but I ordered it on Wayfair. Just go in and filter what specs you are wanting and go from there.

Thanks for all Nerdy "inside-baseball" tech info.......it's thick, but it does "sink in" & it's exactly what your audience is looking for .
I found a couple stylish bricks and have one under each foot pod. Stable and bought me the 2 inches I needed.
That’s what I was going to suggest. Some flat bricks maybe?
What would be the next best dark room large tv other than an oled?
Bedroom TV for sound he should also consider the Frame. Those TVs sound great
I'm pretty sure Pavel meant "largest TV in its range" because OLED TVs don't go beyond 85" yet.
