I stopped by so to check out the progress of the rehabilitation of the G&U back about the same time you did, making this video for us all. I even went down to that Milford connection so to see what has been going on. Need to get there again sometime in 2022. Even used Google's Earth 🌎 so to see whatever I could back then.
This seems to be happening nationwide, small lines being resurrected or reopened with a new name using larger carriers leased tracks for some spur access. Is this due to any major change in business transportation strategy recently or just happening as one/offs in unrelated ways? You don't read much about it happening, but it is a major change in use of rail vie truck, etc.
If anyone wants to see what's going on in 2018, I'm publishing monthly video updates of the R. J. Corman crossing installations, meeting the new MP15s, and exploring the modern G&U

It's 6,405 feet left from 16 to Pinz, and if we follow my track diagram it's another 2,368 feet to link up. Updates today: ballast, check. Ties, if they need more I have some waiting in Woonsocket. Rail, that's the big pricetag. Labor, well in a few weekends us willing volunteers could have it laid (except me, save for my back injury) signals, hey you signal collectors, want to put your old steel to good use? It's not hard people, I'd hate to finish building the G&U layout first! It's a race between how fast I can build 2" track and how fast standard gauge can be dropped. I'm winning. Therefore, my design for the layout should serve as the basic plan for the real thing if this all pans out. Imagine: Cloudsdale-Weather turning a profit on passenger rail... layout updates coming soon friends!
burdizdawurd1516 you seem to know quite a bit about the going ons of this line and railroad. you mentioned volunteers, where do i sign up?! hahahaha. any info is appreciated!
Still enjoying your vids, love exploring the Mass Central tracks and beds...

Why would they put the crossing in and not all the tracks. Is it the bridge that needs to be rise up or is it something else.
When the track was taken up the crossings at grade were left in place to avoid having to repair the road.
Funny - the subtitle used the French word for the frog that derails a runaway railway car: derailleur.

Yeah and go to CSX and talk to them about Passenger Service on their lines...... Good Luck on that buddy, Keep talking on that one.
Does anyone know the real story about the railroad bed that goes through Uxbridge Mass?
Which one?
They will need more than privately spent money to accomplish this.
any update when this railroad will be in operation?
it's in operation now and has been. It was never abandoned. They just pulled back but now it is in operation into hopedale ma
kool
I'd love to ride this line with a Speeder
How about a new video
cmphighpower - it's in the que to be edited. should be up in a few weeks.
Any one know the history of the old business car?
neat!
The commentary is quite unnecessary. Allow the video images to speak for themselves.
I disagree and feel the commentary helps the viewer to know where we are. If you don't like it, mute the video.
jph0917 Agreed It is helpful. Thanks nice work.
Not every visitor to this video is a railway expert who already knows absolutely everything that there is to know about everything railway.
