Shame I felt a bit rushed at the end. I thought there looked to be a few good bars around the harbour.

Great video PP. Thanks for rekindling the memories. Last year I camped at Stoke Fleming (Leonard's Cove Holiday Village - nice but expensive) then walked to Brixham the same as you did. It was a hot day and the walk out of Kingswear was pretty brutal with lots of steep ascent and descent and twists and turns. I'd forgotten about that last energy sapping climb up from Man Sands - a real sting in the tail! It was a relief to finally reach Brixham and my camp spot for the night at Churchston Cove. Thanks for sharing 👌

Another great video Paul. Have wanted to do the SWCP for many years and your videos have inspired me to stop thinking about it and get on with it. Just got back from completing the first four days - Minehead to Woolacombe - and have even more appreciation of your beautifully shot vids. Some of those sections are tough enough without thinking about gathering footage, not to mention walking some of the bits twice for a shot! Keep up the great work! 👍

That’s great, so glad you’ve started. Have you got the bug for it now or have those climbs put you off? Filming is great excuse for me to stop and catch my breath 🤣

Always had an obsession with the SWCP, with a plan to do it “one day”, but now I’ve started - as I’m sure you’ll agree - you just want to go again, so I’m already planning the next bit. Might try and do it sooner than later as the next few sections are a bit simpler . An autumn / early winter stroll might work nicely.

Great video Paul. Tough section that. Its strange that looking back those are some of my favorite areas. Maybe the harder the work, the more the satisfaction.

I remember your video from around this section, I don’t think you were in a good mood at the time as you said you should catch the train from Kingswear to Goodrington 🤣

@@pilgrimpaul7798 that was a tough day. Didn’t get much sleep the night before and I was on my last legs. But a rest a bacon roll with a brew really helped.

Hi Paul,,thank you for another lovely video off the SWCP ,,it looked great,,it might be my turn next year Paul as I try to carry on from Padstow on another 200 + coastal walk I wonder Paul where 200 miles will take me to along the Coastal Trail,,question Paul thought about doing the South Downs way 100 miles Winchester to Eastbourne pretty flat I have been told very popular ,all the best Paul take care Stewart Wiltshire 🏃‍♂️⛺️👍👫

      @pilgrimpaul7798  Год назад +1

Hi Stewart. If you’re aiming for 200 miles on your next trip that would see you get to Portloe if starting at Padstow. If you are using trains to get home then you could finish at Falmouth where there is a train station. Falmouth is about 185 miles from Padstow.

Hi Paul, Greetings from Papua New Guinea, Based in Port Moresby. 9.4512155S 147,1384827E
Loving this series and your comments.
A couple of questions you might want to consider.
Why do people walk the SWCF anti-clockwise? Always seem to start at Minehead.
Have you considered reversing the walk? I'll tell you why. I have covered the North of Scotland 500, both ways. Inverness, Wick, John O'Groats, Thurso, Durness, Ullapool, Ullapool, Kyle of Lockalsh, Around Skye, Fort William, Fort Augustus, Inverness. Absolutely outstanding scenery and bleak and in many places, totally without any humanity around. I also did the reverse route and saw even more outstanding scenery.
Liked when you were back in my home location, Brought up in Zennor and live in Lelant.
Looking forward to watching the final part of your tour.
All the very best from Papua.
    Graham

Hi Graham. Thanks for the message. I’m not sure why anti-clockwise is the common direction of travel on the coast path. It tends to be how most of the guide books are written and even the SWCP website says that it starts in Minehead. I have friends who have walked it in reverse and some who have walked it several times in both directions. Maybe one day I will return and do the same.
