I bought a Gamo Hunter Extreme Pro .22, which is advertised at 1,300 fps with alloy pellets. I am glad to see you focus on a more useful stat (fpe). I'm looking forward to shooting this one across a chrono in order to calculate the muzzle energy. I've seen reviews on this rifle, which put it around 30 fpe. I shot it at my folks place over the Thanksgiving holiday with a variety of pellets (PBA Platinum, PBA Raptor, PBA Armor, Rocket and Red Fire). It was still supersonic up to the PBA Armor pellets (10.85 gr.). This would suggest consistency with the energy figures I saw in the reviews. I don't much care to have the rifle sound like a rim fire, which it certainly does with those alloys. In fact, for pesting you want to be as quiet as possible. I care more about accuracy, and you really want to be subsonic to achieve this, using pellets that is. I can say from my brief experience with this gun that it's a tack driver, especially subsonic. It is also very powerful for its class, making my .177 Ruger Blackhawk look like a Red Ryder BB gun by comparison. If you happen to buy one of these, make sure you get a one-piece scope mount. I couldn't get my two-piece to stay in place (scope creep due to recoil). I do recommend this gun, not only for its power and consistency, but also for its quality and visual appeal. I'm certainly not taking anything away from the Hatsan, but I'm extremely happy with the Gamo Hunter Extreme Pro.

I would get one if the vortex pistons didn't fail all the time. My gamo swarm magnum was almost as powerful and incredibly accurate and way more reliable. If they made a spring version I'd buy one. The gen 1 swarm system does suck but its removable.
The spring version of the 125 can still be had. I got mine of Amazon. I’ve shot Hatsan rifles for years but I don’t mess with their gas rams at all. Hatsan springers though? I rock with those all day long. Check out Amazon
