I bought a Gamo Hunter Extreme Pro .22, which is advertised at 1,300 fps with alloy pellets. I am glad to see you focus on a more useful stat (fpe). I'm looking forward to shooting this one across a chrono in order to calculate the muzzle energy. I've seen reviews on this rifle, which put it around 30 fpe. I shot it at my folks place over the Thanksgiving holiday with a variety of pellets (PBA Platinum, PBA Raptor, PBA Armor, Rocket and Red Fire). It was still supersonic up to the PBA Armor pellets (10.85 gr.). This would suggest consistency with the energy figures I saw in the reviews.
I don't much care to have the rifle sound like a rim fire, which it certainly does with those alloys. In fact, for pesting you want to be as quiet as possible. I care more about accuracy, and you really want to be subsonic to achieve this, using pellets that is. I can say from my brief experience with this gun that it's a tack driver, especially subsonic. It is also very powerful for its class, making my .177 Ruger Blackhawk look like a Red Ryder BB gun by comparison.
If you happen to buy one of these, make sure you get a one-piece scope mount. I couldn't get my two-piece to stay in place (scope creep due to recoil). I do recommend this gun, not only for its power and consistency, but also for its quality and visual appeal. I'm certainly not taking anything away from the Hatsan, but I'm extremely happy with the Gamo Hunter Extreme Pro.

It is a beast and super accurate along with better accuracy and power than any Gamo! That's right, Hatsan is better than hyped up Gamo any day of the week 24/7 !!! Hatsan's have German steel RWS barrels too, bet no one knew that and a German rws steel breech block while trashy Gamos have a synthetic cheap trashy breech block lmao! They only sell 4 different pellets now. They got rid of all of their pellet/bb pistols.

I know that's true for very small cottontails, because a few years ago they were everywhere and in my garden. I have a little Beeman P17 pistol and that only puts out three to four FPE and I popped a few of those little bunnies in the head from a couple yards away. They did the death dance and then added to the garden, lol. Over the years I have learned that a good balance between power and accuracy is very helpful for hunting and pesting.
