She’s SO inspirational, her creativity is endless, I need a Netflix show of behind the scenes of fashion shows with her coming up with the model’s makeup looks. Great video!
Thank you for this. I can see why she has dialed back on the innovation more recently. I hope she gears up the creativity soon. Her work on the runways is still so inspiring.
OMG she was a baby in the late 80s! I was born the year after her and in the late 80s I was still living with my parents, not at all sure where life would take me. What an amazing woman, to strike out on her own and pursue her dreams so young! Thanks for sharing her story!
It’s funny. I absolutely can’t stand Pat McGrath because she’s too much into her pinks, but I love you and your history video series. I do admire her as a person. so I clicked on this asap. Your channel rocks!!!😊❤
I love makeup history videos! I remember way back when elle s used to do these but then she fell off RUclips :c I hope you continue this series there are so many artists and brand owners I'm sure you'd never run out of content lol and they pair so well with grwm's
Oh my gosh, Amy!! This story literally gave me chills and got me all choked up! You are doing such a fantastic job with this series. I really love it! 👏🏻👏🏻💜🌷
I like this series idea so so much. I like to listen to you, I like how much work you put into your research. And I also just generalyl like to watch all of your content.🥰 Your voice is very relaxing, btw ^^
Loved this thank you! I didn't know about Janice Long and Caryn Wheeler, they were both iconic edgy 90s female powerhouses I looked up to🥰 I have a renewed respect for Pat now, but I really wish her brand would release some colour and get rid of the sequin packaging🤣
What a fun video 🎉 I love Pat McGrath eyeshadows so much!! TJ Maxx gets in her pallets around the holidays so that's when I pick them up. I wish her mother could have seen how successful Pat is.
She is such an inspiring and strong woman, and deserves so much respect for all her amazing talent and accomplishments and achievements...and I SOOOO agree...she NEEDS to add more colors, just make the palettes a little fun, because we all know she has the talent to do so. Hopefully she comes out with a colored palette soon🤞😍🥰
So impressed you've sought out Pat's story - Pat really showed her skills at The Face magazine as well which was an incredible platform for fashion shoots in the 80s and 90s. Would you share where you read Pat's background story? It would help me so much to put the pieces together for a research project
I was today years old when I found out that Pat in Pat McGrath stands for Patricia... it’s so obvious now but sheesh I feel stupid for not realizing it sooner 😅 Also I still can’t believe how “young” her brand is - I used to connect her brand with Bobby Brown and ABH I don’t even know why because they are older by more than a decade. Love her story ❤ and thanks for the video ❤
So I didn't watch the L'Oreal vid as I recently saw a multi-part docu on Netflix covering it all, but great series idea. I've always felt lk I wanted to know more abt who PMG is, and why she's so revered I guess, and this catered superbly to that knowledge gap. Very interesting, and also very well, almost professionally, presented -- I was impressed! Had to grin at your "I shop at Target" insert, so relatable. IDC what PMG says abt fingers though; I still hate using mine. Esp on my eyes. Very fresh looking look you put together as well. Still don't own any PMG products myself though (too expensive, and also not really pulling at me?) so will admire from afar.
I love this deep dive! I've only been into make-up since 2022 because I used to live in the Philippines and it's just so humid there that it's not worth it (at least for me) to invest in make-up that won't even last for 4 hours - unless you've been inside an airconditioned room the whole day. Then I moved to the US. So one of the first luxury brands I got into was PMG. I've decluttered some items but Mothership Subliminal, Sublime, Bronze Seduction and Divine Rose 2 stays with me.
If you haven't yet, listening to some Spandau Ballet. I loooovveeeed them in the llate 80s/earlyv90 (yes, I'm old 😂). I love your deep dives. This one makes Pat's esthetics so much clearer. I'd also be curious about Danessa Myricks. Or some iconic products that have been staples forever, how they came about and why are they still popular (Coty Airspun comes to mind). So fascinating!
love her story! just hope we will see her creativity again soon in her launches, not just the artistry on the runways 😢
I agree!!
She’s not the creative direction of the brand anymore ! At least that’s what I heard.
@@saulemaroussault6343 Really? What a wash-out.
She’s SO inspirational, her creativity is endless, I need a Netflix show of behind the scenes of fashion shows with her coming up with the model’s makeup looks.
Great video!
That would be amazing!
I really like this idea! I can’t wait to hear more backstories from different brands.
More to come for sure!! ❤️
Omg Amy!! You made me tear up!! Pat McGraoh is such sn Icon and YES please give us more colors Pat!!
I’m so happy you connected with the video ❤️
Not ‘I shop at target, okay?’😂😂😂😂 I love this
Haha I was worried people might come for me with all the designer names 🤣🤣
Love these videos
Thank you so much! ❤️
Thank you for this. I can see why she has dialed back on the innovation more recently. I hope she gears up the creativity soon. Her work on the runways is still so inspiring.
I LOVE this series!!!😊❤️💄
Thank you!!

LOVE this story!!! Such an inspiring and beautiful story behind a brand I’ve loved! They should make a movie about her life!!!!
That would be amazing! I don’t know that she would be open to it as she is very private and I couldn’t find a single photograph from her childhood ☹️
Awesome concept! I’m gunna check out your other video next!
Oh thank you!! Enjoy ✨
These are fun. Love :)
Her story is so beautiful, and you told it so well with the heartfelt emotion that it deserves. ❤️
So amazing Amy!! I loved this soooo much!!! Thank you!!
Glad you liked it!!
Wow. Thank you for sharing this. I really enjoyed learning about her.
You're so sweet, Amy, getting so emotional about Pat's mom! 😍
When I was researching her story my boyfriend caught me multiple times just in tears. Really got to me ❤️
So glad to see a 2nd installment in this awesome series!
It’s funny. I absolutely can’t stand Pat McGrath because she’s too much into her pinks, but I love you and your history video series. I do admire her as a person. so I clicked on this asap. Your channel rocks!!!😊❤

Fantastic video!! I adore Pat McGrath, and I also wish for more colorful palettes besides pink.
Have a great day gorgeous!

Beautiful story. Thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it
I more or less knew the story, thanks for filling the gaps !
Well done and meaningful!
I'm literally obsessed with the brand 💕

I have all my sources linked in the description box 😊
From what I understand, a Dame is similar to a Knight.

I wrote my previous comment before you started tearing up and now I'm tearing up LOL

cool didn't know all that, now i get the hype
Pat sold a certain percentage of her brand a few years ago. That’s why she only owns 70% now.
I love this
Thank you 😊
She was knighted. "Dame" is the female equivalent of "sir" and it's a title always added when talking about or introducing someone like doctor.
Gotcha! Thanks ☺️
Spandau Ballet was a pop group, "True" is their iconic hit, check it out. (Old person here, lol.)
I think Dame is the female version of Knight. A ceremonial title meant to honor someone. Lots of actors are Dames & Sirs :)
💜
Natasha next please!!
Oh, I could care less about Pats make up, but I know everyone around me used to be obsessed with it and now people are upset
I know a lot of people are tired of the same thing being rebranded. I still have hope for the future ☹️
I still use my fingers for my concealer
💗💗💗
I love Pat Mcgrath and she is loyal to her UK fans by shipping to us for free.
That’s awesome ☺️
Considering her history of creativity and artistry and bold looks, it boggles my mind that her palette launches are always so freaking boring.
Algorithm
Thank you ❤️
Pat McGrath is an incredible artist. It's just unfortunate her brand is boring af
