It's a dangerous route over to Piel, unless you're very familiar with the route. Shifting sands, sinking sands and rapidly filling gulley's, like most of the Bay and the channels that feed it, more than a few people have not come back.
Spent many many years over there, my cousin's own the caravan site and the farm you rode through to get to the nature reserve.
Been a long time since I walked over, pub can get very busy, houses have no utilities and are passed on to people can't remember any ever being sold.
Castles linked to Furness Abbey and trading routes.
You could have got the ferry of course from Roa Island (where Hairy Biker Dave used to live)
It's all changed since I were a lad lol

Hi Pete, thanks for the info. The small ferry wasn’t running at the time due to c19, but we loved the place and will return some day, Cheers 😊

Oh Mate Great channel and Lovely truck/RV (i used to drive those Mercs in the 80's/90's, drove most models all the way up to the "Powerliner") you seem a top down to earth bloke, with nice "English explanations"! I've just watched all your vids ....look forward to your future vids, love to see your truck in person one day! always fancied an overlander, M.A.N. are smooth but are riddled with costs and tech that breaks down easy, Merc LF, LK & LAK are nice but are a hard beast to drive, and when you've took your ear defenders off you know you've driven one (makes a series 1 landy feel like a rolls royce), your model is perfect, and any hiccups or sputters can be fixed with a basic cable tie, WD40 and small spanner kit!! Im based in Ascot Berks ( a northerner living in Ascot, can u imagine, I do stick out like a sore thumb😁) if your ever stuck or in the area give us a holler. You and your other half enjoy your travels and stay safe 👍

Hey, hello there. Thanks for a great comment and i’m pleased your enjoying the vids :) The merc’s make great trucks, the old stuff anyhows.. yes a little noisey but great to drive (once you forget how modern vehicles handle)
Thanks for the offer, we do get around a fair bit ( pre-covid ) and its always great to link up with other like minded folk :)
