Maddie i’m so sorry if it was my comment. I don’t know how youtube messed up and it ended up on your video. It was for someone else’s short, i did not even realise it ended up on yours until you commented. I’m really really sorry, it was never my intention to make you feel bad because we’re going through similar struggles. And you’re an inspiration to me for being consistent in my journey to become fitter and healthier for the same reason 😔
Thank you both! I'm lowkey shook by the amount of comments complimenting my amateur calligraphy. I used to be really into bullet journaling. The pen is called a Tombow Fudenosuke hardtip brush pen. Not to be all ~humble, but it's honestly not my best because I was having to hold the camera while writing the headers, haha.
Not hitting snooze is so hard. I also can't shut my brain off. I've been wanting to try meditation. For a couple years I was posting I'm dead inside memes alot. I notice I don't anymore. I guess I'm less dead inside now. I hope you get everything you want in life. I love watching your videos.
My senior Cavalier King Charles spaniel must have heard about this challenge. He has been waking me up at 5am ready to exercise, and barking what I can only assume are positive affirmations about getting fed earlier.
Fellow ADHDer here! I love experimenting with different types of meditation. Single point meditation is nice, but I used to do a sound meditation during breaks on my morning walks. That's where I just sit, close my eyes, and identify the sounds I hear (like labeling the source of it, guessing/considering how far away it is, etc.) and/or listening for the sounds that are farthest away or closest to me, trying to isolate each sound even if there's more than one... things like that. That made the process of sitting still and breathing way easier than when I just dive into trying to clear my thoughts, if that makes sense.
I hadn't heard about the miracle morning before this video but want to give it a shot now. 5am is really not my forte, nor is journaling but want to see how my days improve if I was able to get more done earlier in the morning. Loved this video and the last and hope your vacation is/was going well!
Thank you! We just got back from vacation yesterday and it was lovely and just what we needed. It definitely was nice to get my work out done early in the morning. I feel like I'm more of a "journal at night" kind of gal, mainly because I don't think my brain is fully online in the morning even after working out. I definitely played around with things to see how it would work for me.
My thoughts on this video in no particular order: 1. Good for you to try this out and be open minded about it. You go Maddie! (That's what i mean with consistency...you're consistently trying to improve and build better habits and that alone is impressive/motivating enough. Life just... lifes sometimes so it's ok to not be able to give it your 100 all the time. 2. I feel ANY routine would have helped you because it sets your brain up for the day. Obviously some are more helpful than others and I feel this is a great start to see what works and what doesn't. 3. Your writing kicks ass. So pretty! 4. Your hair still looks great, and I see those baby hairs! 5. Just a thought on ADHD, apparently Magnesium helps. 6. The best changes are the ones that you only notice when you DON'T do them anymore. Point in case, I drastically cut down sugar and my mood is much more balanced. 7. That's something I'd add to your afternoon slump tactic as well - Watch your sugar intake over the course of the morning. The more sugar you eat, the harder the slump. (Not YOU you, just in general) 8. Meditation can also be just petting your cats and get a bit lost in the process. I know what you mean about prattle brain, even when I silently tell myself Breathe in, breathe out, there's a second voice starting "But have you remembered to sort the washing for tomorrow?" Shut up, brain!
1) I honestly think being open minded helped. Mindset isn't everything, but it can really make or break some things. 2) I do think routines have a way of Pavlov's Dogging your brain into knowing what to do sometimes and cuts down on having to consider what to do. (Which can be a game changer for someone with ADHD). 3) Thank you! I mentioned in a previous comment that I used to be really into bullet journaling and I learned how to do amateur calligraphy. It was a little shaky because I had to hold the camera, but I'm glad you all liked it nonetheless. 4) I appreciate you noticing.
@@maddiedoeswhatshewants you're so sweet 🥰 I forgot to mention for Magnesium that at least when pregnant it can induce birth earlier than desired, so I'm not sure if it doesn't have also have effects on the body when trying to conceive. While I dont think you'll take supplements willy-nilly given how invested you are in your journey, I just want to leave this for any others who may come across this comment. Before taking any supplements, please consider consulting your doctor.
I've tried having a morning routine like this in the past and I love it but I am simply not willing to wake up earlier than my already ungodly 2am for work. Died laughing at 6:25 😂 I know exactly what you mean by feeling weird during time changes! Makes my brain feel wrong in the weirdest way. Also....that writing?! So beautiful.
I would NOT be able to do that with your schedule! Ain't no way I could have done it when I worked night shift back in the day either. No thank you lol. And thanks for the compliment fam! It's a brush pen! I had to practice a lot to get even halfway decent at it lol
I love this! Also I've seen like fertility coloring books/ Fertility affirmation coloring books maybe that's something you would be interested in? I'm starting my weight loss today, you are a motivator for me just because of how real you are in showing your journey not just your end results!
I feel like meditation is my weakness too at this point of life. I'm always thinking about something until it's bed time. But congratulations on trying to build better habits!!
I will say that I currently get up at 5 AM every day to pump milk for my rainbow baby at the age of 38. Miracle morning will take on a new meaning when you are sleep deprived and cuddling with a LO of your own!
Great job on cutting back on snoozing. That is my weakness too 😅 I found guided meditation helped me because it was hard to meditate and even now I can only do a couple minutes.
Hey Maddie! I wanted to ask if you and or Henry have ever checked into your benefits at work to see if the company helps with fertility treatments. My job will pay for a good portion for it and I just realized that so thought I would mention it.
Thanks for mentioning it! I know they have benefits for adoption (I want to say 5k per kid), but I'm not sure about IVF/fertility treatments. I know my insurance has next to no fertility benefits, unfortunately. It's very good otherwise, but not when it comes to fertility. :/ I'll look into it!
@@maddiedoeswhatshewants I know the reason my job pays for IVF is because someone who worked there had been trying to have a baby for a couple of years and wrote a letter to HR requesting that they consider adding this to their benefits package. It’s been really cool to see. A woman on my team just had her IVF baby last week with her wife and also gets 12 weeks of paid time off from the company now. You might have to be a trailblazer and reach out to HR if your company doesn’t already offer any type of fertility and maternity benefits but I am sure that is scary too.
I just realised that I totally missed Maddie day this week! Can only blame the school holiday blur 😅 I wonder if you could try some hypnosis for fertility in place of your meditation? It popped into my head because I struggle with meditating but I did hypnobirthing during both of my pregnancies and loooved it. I used to listen as I went to sleep and would completely crash out before it was even finished and would have the most relaxing wonderful night’s sleep. My brain still loves popping out with those birthing affirmations at the most random times 8 years later so I think it’s safe to say they’re hardwired in there now 😂 e.g. my body knows exactly how to birth my baby

Hey your comments seem super nice. I have no issues with them at all!
Your writing during the savers part holy cow! Gorgeous ❤❤
Yes! I was gonna say this!!

Here's to being alive inside.

Oh no lmao. I'm so sorry. I've said it in a previous comment, but your dog is a cutie

I definitely have to focus on things when I meditate as well. I like this though! Very creative!

That's awesome! I hope it's going well so far! I used to be really into adult coloring books, so I'm intrigued. Coloring can be meditative.

Hahahaha the affirmations were so real for when you're trying to get pregnant 😅
For sure! lol. 💯💯
This challenge sounds great, I think I’m going to try this out.😊

I've felt no energy and off for two weeks now. Fitbit readiness score only in 70s but it's says 7ish hours of sleep. Will try getting the book.
Even the mindset shift of knowing that you were productive first thing in the morning can really make a world of difference.
What do you do for bra for jump rope challenge? Jumping Jack's painful right now.
Great job on cutting back on snoozing. That is my weakness too 😅 I found guided meditation helped me because it was hard to meditate and even now I can only do a couple minutes.
Yeah I find guided helps cut down on the brain noise for me as well! I have Henry to thank for the snoozing (or lack thereof) haha.
The readiness score sounds like the body battery on my Garmin watch. I'm always shocked how accurate it is compared to how I am feeling.
For sure, I find the Oura Ring is super accurate!
