I assume as more of Varlamore is released, the splinters will have new uses sources to get them. Can't see them dipping to lower than 500 or so each, as the charge the quiver, but stay being burned through the new prayer method and Sunfire Rune crafting and the upgraded burnt pages for Tome of Fire.
Even if farming wave 1 falls to 2-3 mil an hour, it is still on par with most end game bossing. Seems the changes this week might make colosseum completions better for gaining splinters, but take that with a grain of salt as I haven't run the numbers. Plus wave 1 can be done incredibly fast, so it's probably still better or the same.
it id even easier than hr suggested. pray mage and piety at start sip a super combat potion. wear max melee str gear. have a c bow and bolts, a trident of swamp and a dds. you'll always hit your max hit if you do the combat triangle, so you just need to hit atleast a.25 as a max hit and you'll 2 hit every guy. dds spec the shaman at end and if you don't kill him with specs use a stronger melee we.to bring him down. I do this so.fast cheetah never spawns, average time 25secs

i use melee setup with dinhs bulwark, 2 spec the warband and fang the shaman. usually under 20 seconds.
