    I've been to Greece 4 times in my life, the first time was in 2016 to Zante which was mostly drinking and English breakfasts, so we didn't try many Greek foods that time, and to my surprise the British tourists there were far more civilized than those that go to Spain
    Then in 2019 we went to Roades where I had much more of a Greek experience with the chicken and pork Gyros then a Gyros pizza and we went to Lindo's castle and the Fountain youth where it's said that if you drink from there you never come home, honestly I'd had better tap water and it was covered in Angry wasps, we saw a lot of church's in Rhoades Aswell, one from 1450AD second oldest in all of Greece, we also did Olive oil and wine tasting, and on the last day we went to Roades 3ed biggest restaurant where we had a 3 course meal of Lamb and fish and Greek yogurt with syrup for dessert, and drank Mythos out of medieval pottery cups
    Then in September 2020 we went to Elounda Crete where we experienced Spinalonga island where people with Leprosy were quarantined from 1903-1957 and it was used by the Ottoman empire.
    we also went to Alice Nicholous where there was a statue of the first Mayor, in Elounda there were many Shisha bars and club 66 was the best one, if we had a meal over 30 euros we got dessert for free (Oreo cheesecake) and every time we went to club 66 for shishas and drinks we were given free melon and pop corn then crisps, so much better than in the UK.
    Then in 2022 We went to Malia (which means hair in Greek) which was mostly partying like Zante was and most places did Full English breakfasts for 3.50 Euro but there were places where you could get Greek food if you wished. We also experienced Zeus cove and everywhere I have being in Greece had spoken good English for those who refuse to learn any other language but for the sake of being a better tourist I've been learning Greek for over 18 months now and can't wait to go back to Greece sometime soon

    I am from Serbia and i go to greece whenever i can. My most memorable stay was 4 years ago at the final year of High school where i passed out drunk on the beach on Corfu at night with freinds from drinking metaxa with 5 stars. That shit hits harder then Rakija. I really loved that the police just asked if we are ok and went away. During summer when i come for 30 days i get arround 12kg of body mass from eating the food, even tho i swim and walk the entire day. I never understood how some people could be even fit there. If it wasnt this hard to get the citizenship id gladly move over. Nightlife in Thesaloniki is something you have to see as a tourist. In Athens i ate oranges from the central park and did not get poisoned so i approve you do the same. Only issue i find with Greece is that you people drive very poorly, to the point where i am scared to cross the street

    They also have drip when it comes to their national anthem. The full Greek national anthem is composed of 158 stanzas, making it the world's longest national anthem by length of text. They are a nation proud of their history, as shown in the Athens 2004 opening ceremony. I mean they had a big pool of water and the Olympic rings formed with *FIRE!* Sure, Athens should've gotten the 1996 Olympics for the centennial occasion by default instead of Atlanta, but the 2004 Summer Games is better than no games returning to Athens.
    And the perfect way to end the Olympics' return to Greece, is to make some of the Athens 2004 venues become ruins...which all jokes aside, I'm glad they're turning the abandoned Olympic venues into a big green park at Hellinikon.

  • @AverytheCubanAmerican

    Greek facts no one asked for: There are over 10,000 traditional dances that come from all regions of the country. If any country is the true Dancing Queen, it's definitely Greece. 80 percent of its landmass is mountainous, but no part of Greece is more than 137 km/85 miles from the ocean! Greece has an impressive coastline of 16,000 km (9,942 miles), making it one of the longest in the world. Greece is also one of the leading olive producers in the world, and they grow the greatest variety. Some of the country’s olive trees that were planted in the 13th century are still bearing fruit today. Every time Gordon Ramsay uses a touch of olive oil, an olive grove disappears.
    "You know the Turks pull up, the tax man pulls up, then you want the cat army on your side" That's if Turkey doesn't pull up with their own cat army. Istanbul is known as the City of Cats, with some calling it Catstanbul (Catstantinople has a better ring to it though). Another thing that hit the Greek economy besides lack of tourism during their crisis is Coca-Cola HBC leaving for Switzerland. Coca-Cola HBC (HBC means Hellenic Bottling Company) was founded in Athens in 1969 and they are the world's third-largest Coca-Cola anchor bottler in terms of volume with sales of more than two BILLION unit cases. So when they chose to leave Athens for Switzerland in 2012, this was a HUGE blow to the Athens stock market.

      @@yolo3004 It's a Greek thing but to summarize.
      Λιακόπουλος is an author (of sorts) who sells books pertaining to conspiracy theories. A good chunk of them are meh tier, ie your typical Protocols of the Elders, New World Order, Bohemian Grove etc. But then again we're dealing with the Balkans here, where the conspiracy theories come with extra spice. For example forget the typical story of Alexander the Great and the mainstream accounts. According to books of Λιακόπουλο he waged war against the forces of Gog and Magog, who were invading from the hollow earth and had to be sealed away in modern day Kashmir (or Central Asia, he was never clear about that). Other theories include that all the modern conflicts of Balkans are an integral part of the battle between good and darkness, which is of galactic proportions.
      But reading OP's comment, I remember him saying that some ancient Spartans somehow managed to make it to Bolivia/Peru and their descendants shaped a good part of pre-Colombian civilization. So yeah, Balkan conspiracy theories put today's history channel to shame.

    Apart from the eternal Gyros vs Souvlaki debate, there is the Athens vs Thessaloniki debate and I do have to say that this video has dealt irrecoverable damage to the Athens side.

    • @gnas1897
      @gnas1897 2 года назад

      Honestly for me at least both Souvlaki and Gyros are acceptable unless you put the Souvlaki inside of a pita or bread, then that's a war crime.

      Thessalonians are declared braindead at birth. They can't comprehend the fact that one word can have multiple meanings, which is why they get an aneurysm every time someone uses the word kalamaki to refer to meat on skewers.
      Also, "souvlaki" is a blanket term. It's like saying "pizza". You need to be more specific in order to make an order. But in Thessaloniki they only have two choices because their underdeveloped brains can't handle much more.
