It also managed to fly through a canyon within enemy territory less than 100 feet above the ground, destroyed a uranium plant, and shot down an Su-57 in the same day. Not bad I'd say
As a son of a former army soldier i have grown up learning more about the F4 phantom, all the way to the F18 hornets including the f14 tomcats..both the f15,f16 and also the general dynamics f111it's great to see this documentary i was only 8yrs old when this was made
Back in my US Navy days i was lucky enough to be stationed in the very first f-18 squadron on the east coast VFA-131 Wildcats , We also was the first to see combat in Libya is 1986 aboard the USS Coral Sea , Based out of NAS Cecil Field fla 1984/1988 great times !
Another amazing documentary coverage video about F-18 hornet shared by excellent Mike Guardia channel video showed that technological competition amongst US aviation companies created that USA having excellent airplanes in the world ...allot thanks
It's not really a huge feet to reach American basses from Russia we have air force and marine basses in Alaska and its only like 50 miles from Russia to Alaska across the barren straight. From little diamonds Island to big diamonds Island which is the little ones in America and the big ones in Russia in the winter time you can walk across there and an afternoon cuz it freezes solid
30 years later and the intro music on these videos still makes me happy. These are so well done, and it's so cool to see them again. Thank you.
For series music info, check out "usnraptor great planes database".
The f18 has an excellent combat record, it stopped an alien invasion all by itself 🤣
Russell Casse, we salute you 💪

@@idiota8855i think… don’t get me wrong here… that may be a film… it would make good production tho

You're getting even better now Sir, England through to the Semis of I cc World Cup and now this? 😂 Many thanks Mike
The F-A 18 is the YF-17 redesigned. So in a way both The YF-16 and YF-17 made it into production.
Its a shame the original nickname didn't stick. Because then we'd have the "Super Cobra" today and that's just a really rad name.
Thank you again Mike for these great uploads. Excellent finds my friend. Everyone let’s get Mike more subs!
Shows fpotage of the saab VIGGEN when talking about the DRAKEN..
Jamming out to that opening tune.
11:40: it's not a Saab Draken, but a Viggen.
The F-14 Tomcat might have been the Top Gun but the F-18 Legacy was the Blue Angel
The Tomcat is much cooler though
@F-14Tomcat-qv5ly the Tomcat is a has been athlete whose glory years are long behind it
@@pontiacGXPfan nope, it's still got sharp claws
It will be even greater if you can upload Dogfight series after finishing this one
Its not the McDonnell Hornet. Its the McDonnell-Douglas hornet. The hornet came AFTER the merger.
An interesting video, shame about the dull music in the background!
what’s the music
Back then the falcon killed the cobra, but today the mighty growler can kill a viper
Will have to be a very light Growler and a very heavy viper for a growler to take on a viper.
How would a growler, an electronic attack aircraft, take on, and win, against a Viper, a purebred fighter/CAS aircraft?
40:01 Bet he felt that one!
Damn bugs

11:40 ....is not Saab Draken (JAS 35) ...but it is the JAS 37 Viggen.
There was no need to replace the f14.
Kind of annoying to listen to someone constantly mispronounce St. Louis. But still a good video.
Too bad there are zero stats.
US Navy and Pentagon said Tic tac beat the F18 🛩️🛸
