lol I'm fluent and didn't realize he said "minna, ki wo tsukeyo" until I saw this comment and rewatched that part. I just assumed it was off the cuff jibberish
"Timothy has a fake announcement to make about his fake cameo in the upcoming Marvel movie." Don't know if its just cause I'm so drunk right now, but I find it hilarious that they have to clarify twice that this is a fake cameo
OfficeBum I believe he is the top choice by far but if not him John is pretty good. Only way him is if you cant get Olyphant though cause hes just perfect
Oh wow, his Japanese was perfect--even the intonation. As a Japanese, I'm actually impressed. Usually when actors try to say a few words, they get the rhythm wrong. As If I couldn't love Olyphant enough...sigh...
Bur, Arnett, Maron are all great guests. But noone has the connection with Conan and Andy like Olyphant. Well, Arnett seems pretty close. But hey, they're all amazing. I'm just excited to see Olyphant as a guest again. Been a while. :)
Norm is awesome, but he doesn't have the chemistry with Conan and Andy like Olyphant does. That's because Olyphant and Conan and Andy are good friends in real life.
To imagine that this guy marvelously played Hitman and never ever mentions it tell us that he is really a cool dude. Down to earth and knows how not to take himself seriously at all.
Unfortunately, Timothy Olyphant didn't do a great job of breaking it down, but the backstory of Captain Japan is really explained much better in the comics. The Japanese girlfriend and the nuclear reactor part is not strictly canon, he must have been talking about a Multiverse version of Captain Japan.
Galactic123 Thank you! They always change this kind of things in the movies! If the original story is good enough to make 857 issues of comics, why invent a new -watered down- one?
How does Timothy not have a comedy special? I know stand-up comedy is slightly different but I'm pretty difficult with humor but this dude just never fails to make me die laughing.
Never really seen this guy in an interview but I quite like the vibe he gives. He talks like just a regular dude with a job but just so happens the job is acting. Instead of the “I’m an actor there’s a whole celebrity vibe” vibe.
HAHAHA. I love Timothy Olyphant especially on Conan. I met him on the street one day, and my wife was just amazed at how good looking he is in real life. So I now watch these videos of him by myself.
Timothy Olyphant would actually make a great Marvel villain, if he could hold it together for five seconds without crackin' wise...this man is really funny.
He's always been a great comedian and never had problems with incredibly dry deadpan delivery. It's funny watching outtakes from his guest roles in the comedy shows where the hosts/regular actors couldn't hold themselves together while Tim delivers his lines perfectly.
I can see Fred Armisen say that same sort of made up stuff. but Timothy is much more convincing until it becomes ridiculous. This story is also more elaborate than Fred's usual stuff.
Yeah his natural charisma helps a lot with this type of comedy, while Fred's delivery sometimes verge more on awkward style, which sometimes could work, but not as easily as Tim's.
I always saw him as tony stark, Dr.strange, reed Richard's, or Bruce banner. He could pull off alot. Very well rounded actor! The fact he screen tested for iron man still makes me think what if???
he was actually auditioned for iron man before RDJ. and he probably would of been iron man if Robert didn't and he would of got all the attention. he would be a great iron man if he did get it
"All the Avengers were there. Batman, Boy Wonder. All of them" lmao
"Pretty sure I saw them."
That was the best part 😂
1000 like ya welcome
Gotta admit--that triggered me a bit lol
"They are all working"😂
His hair does look like an anime character’s hair.
Wade S he's Captain Japan!
He looks like Bakugo 🦉
jason in tokyo ghoul
he could make a good old okabe rintarou
Thought maybe he was trying to get an audition for the new Wolverine role.
I would watch Timothy as Capt. Japan. He should be in Deadpool. I think Timothy and Ryan Reynolds in a movie would be priceless.
Thing is, Timothy Olyphant would be great in anything, so it's a given.
(he was even great in Hitman, and he was miscast, small head ;p)
Hell yeah
Oh my god, YES.
How could he say "Captain Japan" without dying laughing 😂
*I've only bought twenty dvds in my whole life but I would spend $100 on **_Captain Japan_** !*
"I'm really big in Japan"
A joke within itself
🤣🤣🤣
No there’s a hero by the name of sunfire that’s who he’s talking about
because hes 6 foot?

@@fearan9406 and 6 inches
I enjoyed that he actually learned the Japanese translation of “Everybody, watch out!” for the joke.
Dont lie. You just enjoyed dis deek
He had the right words, just butchered the pronunciation. I want to see Captain Japan though!!
@@shiratake1974 That makes the joke even better.
lol I'm fluent and didn't realize he said "minna, ki wo tsukeyo" until I saw this comment and rewatched that part. I just assumed it was off the cuff jibberish
@@ragnarokangaroo I feel like came up with this whole story just so he could say that one line on the show because he thought it would be funny.
A troll will troll. Sometimes brilliantly. Props to Tim.
I always stay up to watch if Tim O is on!
"Timothy has a fake announcement to make about his fake cameo in the upcoming Marvel movie." Don't know if its just cause I'm so drunk right now, but I find it hilarious that they have to clarify twice that this is a fake cameo
"Pretty sure I saw him." 😂
R R saw’em
@Jordan Schlansky. Jordan Schlansky, you are a strange, strange Man. Lol
Jordan has a peephole to Conan's dressing room. Hahahaha
Jordan Schlansky I really wanna see u do dis 😂 Jordan
I would listen to his BS all day. He is such a good narrator.
LoL I was like ok this is gonna have a punchline... But he just kept going 😂😂😂
This is one of the funniest made up story I've ever heard.
The most amazing thing is that his japanese is correct lol
Gabriel Dalposso nothing amazing at all with speaking a language
Not "saying" the thing. But knowing what to say. Most people would just come up with gibberish
If you watch again, he has something written on his left palm, and he begins to rub it off after he gives the line.
@@jenjen4louise afterwards he raises and opens his palms, clean as a whistle
well that's part of the joke my friend
I've been saying Timothy needs to play Mister Fantastic. This solidifies it.
OfficeBum I believe he is the top choice by far but if not him John is pretty good. Only way him is if you cant get Olyphant though cause hes just perfect
I pick Jon Hamm for the role
KingInTheNorth 12 idk the Quiet Place success seems that John Krasinski and Emily Blunt are solidified as Mr Fantastic and Invisible Woman
BOB money probably but that should only be if Timothy bombs the audition for Mister Fantastic
Ghostwriter Stfu 😂
I was in the audience for this episode. He's hilarious and adorable in person
Jealous.
Captain Japan would take out Thanos barehanded, or at least he will try after a bottle of sake.
Avocado Warrior With his sidekick chicken named Hibachi
CHOP SUEYYYYY
The sake has a strong punch. Killed Thanos with just, one punch.
is that punpun as your dp?
"But you're not Japanese?"
"I know... Look, I was dating a girl and..."
WHAT 😂😂😂😂
usually that's how people tell the story of "How they moved to a country or city" xD

Did you see his guesting in The League where he plays a Sushi Chef? He speaks a lot more Japanese there but that was years ago (so he improved a lot)
It took a long time that I finally realized he said "みんな気をつけろ!" but not "me not kill skill"
@@JadeCordova holy S***i totally forgot he played that part.
This is the best guest ever. Watch his previous appearances. They are all hilarious. XD

Nah , Bill Burr's better
Norm Macdonald FTW!
Norm is awesome, but he doesn't have the chemistry with Conan and Andy like Olyphant does. That's because Olyphant and Conan and Andy are good friends in real life.
The sandal/bad toenail interview is so damn funny!! hahaha
Started with this, then went on a binge watchin every single Timothy Olyphant appearance on Conan. Liquid GOLD!
If I had hair like that, I'd be happy. Speaking of both of them
Let's be Honest Official that is some awesome hair
probably but with awesome hair
You and me both
Thats the jokers haicut
I got that hair, but going back to work, I gotta cut it
i love that he gives it considerable thought to set up the story, and then just says "you know....shits hit the fan..."
I'd watch his Captain Japan origin story for sure, get on it marvel!
😂 almost 4 minutes of absolute BS 👏👏
Gotta love Tim :D
bnenomore lol
TBS you mean
And such entertaining BS😀
That is why i reckon there may be some truth to it. Him being in Avengers or considered for a role. He already auditioned for Ironman way back when.
To imagine that this guy marvelously played Hitman and never ever mentions it tell us that he is really a cool dude. Down to earth and knows how not to take himself seriously at all.
You should check out the outtakes from Hitman! Him goofing around with the cast and the director especially is such a delight
Timothy Olyphant is a national treasure....and so is his hair. ✂
Now this is quality material 😂
"Pretty sure I saw 'em." Batman & Boy Wonder = Black Panther & Spider-man.
Troll level -1000

Carlique Carrington- Indeed. Well over 9000.

Watch out, he might go super saiyan soon...
I feel ashamed for not knowing Timothy Olyphant was one of the funniest recurring guests on Conan until the last few days.
Best Conan guests:
3. Timothy Olyphant
2. Bill Burr
1. Jeff Goldblum
BRs Anime Corner Number one is Norm MacDonald.
this gets said everytime theres a new video by any of them..way to be original, nerd
I'd also add Norm MacDonald and Ron Funches to the list.
Norm transcends the list
PAUL RUDD

He's aged so well since Scream 2.
Dude is like a vampyre! I hope I age like him!
Dude's almost 50. It's nuts.
If he dyed his hair black he would look 30
Anthony Swiss technically his wife had the kids but yes he does look good for his age 😄
Actually, he has three kids. He always jokes about how the third one was one too many.
Captain America is my favourite anime character from DC
Vegeta and Boruto wtf?? Anime isn't captain america its dc
Didn't expect Conan too laugh this much about this topic
This man knows how to set up a joke. I was cracking up the whole story
How does Timothy not have a comedy special? I know stand-up comedy is slightly different but I'm pretty difficult with humor but this dude just never fails to make me die laughing.
I'd totally watch a movie of Captain Japan as long as Olyphant acts the part just as casually as he does this interview.
Don't know why, but he's giving me strong Magneto vibes with that crazy gray hair of his haha
Timothy Olyphant, One of my top 5 "Have Some Beers With" list.
Fan art of captain Japan please this would be funny.
Hes a good storyteller.
Damn! So Hitman coulda been in the Avengers.. 🙊
Ankit Shahi I guess it's an unpopular opinion, but I love his Hitman film.
He was actually considered for the role of Tony Stark
What a great riff, and all improvised (I think). Olyphant has skills.
Timothy Olyphant would make an amazing Vigilante based on Justified. Maybe DC should be be looking at him.
He's back!!!!
Tell me I'm Not the only one who imagined Shot by Shot as he explained the scene and it could actually be done as a fan film.
Never really seen this guy in an interview but I quite like the vibe he gives. He talks like just a regular dude with a job but just so happens the job is acting. Instead of the “I’m an actor there’s a whole celebrity vibe” vibe.

3 mins makes you love Captain Japan and feel real bad it got cut off, that guy's a genius!
Straight up trolling Conan on his own show xD
why is every time him saying captian japan even more hilarious than the first time he said, captain japan
sounds like he lost a bet and had to naturally inject the alphaville song "big in japan" into the conversation :D
thereisnospace also a Tom Waits song
I LOVE TIMOTHY!!!
Love that he was the American Sushi chef in an episode of 'The League' and now Captain Japan...he really is big in Japan!
Captain Japan threw a bullet at Thanos and told him the next one is going faster.
Me cago en la Luna He saw it on Johnny Carson once.
The fact he keeps a straight face spewing all these stuff out shows he is a really great actor. Lol XD
“Captain America and ummm.. Batman” I laughed way too hard.
To pull a straight face throughout, thats impressive ability.
I can see Fred Armisen say that same sort of made up stuff. but Timothy is much more convincing until it becomes ridiculous. This story is also more elaborate than Fred's usual stuff.

“Pretty sure I saw em” 😂😂😂😂
I lost it at Captain Japan ... 😂😂😂
This guy has massive comedic talent
This is canon in my head now. Tim Olyphant IS Captain Japan.
My Top conan gusts :
5- Bill Burr
4- Jeff Goldblum
3-Kevin Nealon
2- Timothy olyphant
1-Norm Macdonald
I think an honorable mention should be Aubrey Plaza. Her and Conan have some of the funniest interviews imho.
"im big in Japan" haha
great Tom Waits song! tell you that much!
Wtfffff. Captain Japan 😂😂 the coolest character everrrrr
Captain Japan is my favourite Marvel Superhero
🤣🤣 love Timothy Olyphant. Justified was one of the best TV series cop shows ever!
Lol what if he said "Omae wa Shindeiru"
Hugh Mungus omae Hakai !
Thanos's head explodes
I could watch, just these 2 interact as the "Conan and Tim" show. Hilarious!
For a small section of this i believed in a slightly more magical world.
Timothy's been one of my favorite actors since Girl Next Door, Hitman, etc. I'm so glad to know that he's a jokester lmao
I love Tim’s works ! He’s hilarious n a laid back way
I only really know this guy from these Conan remotes but he deserves more
0:07 I was totally upset! And then.. 😄😆😄😆😄
First time i had to rewind a clip on youtube cause its too damn funny. This is hilarious hahahha
This right here ladies n gentlemen is our next Reed Richards
I always saw him as tony stark, Dr.strange, reed Richard's, or Bruce banner. He could pull off alot. Very well rounded actor! The fact he screen tested for iron man still makes me think what if???
Let's be honest I feel like he did film a scene. End credit scene: Him wearing a suit with a 4 on the chest. Timothy Olyphant as Mr. Fantastic.
he... was in... 😕
*hears the name captain Japan* 😆😆😆😆😆
From gunslinger to mad scientist, I love this man
"I'm pretty sure I saw them..." That line is delivered in such a off-handed yet hilarious way.
Love this guy lmaoo
XxCysaxX Nice picture. You an Agents of Shield fan?
Carlo Cajigas hell yeah I'm a huge fan!
XxCysaxX Shame it's only getting 13 episodes
Best Conan guest of all time and only guest whose hair rivals Conan's.
lol at Andy's sneaky evil laugh at 1:26
his hair in The Girl Next Door LMAO
How can someone keep going with this for 3 minutes without breaking?? 🤣🤣🤣
Whenever I'm down I do a Timothy-Conan marathon..
he was actually auditioned for iron man before RDJ. and he probably would of been iron man if Robert didn't and he would of got all the attention. he would be a great iron man if he did get it
His accent was pretty ok! hahaha I was suprised!
Haha just Timothy trolling for 4 minutes. can watch for hours
He looks like an adult Quicksilver from the X-Men universe.
What Timothy said for “everybody watch out”, actually matches the google translate for that phrase into Japanese.
This is a great lesson in comedic timing.
