They are offering in USA in 2024 either a touch screen or OLED. Which would you recommend? Plus they are now also offering the latest Intel Core 7 Ultra - which gets 25% more battery 🔋 life.
My last 2 laptops were very powerful, heavy RTX models (had a Lenovo Legion and an Acer Nitro) for gaming, but recently built my first custom pc, so I now only need a laptop for school (I do full stack development and some graphic design) plus some music production as a hobby. I looked for a while for something as light and portable as a MacBook, but still some decent storage options with an 8 core, and this is definitely the best option I could find. I'd say this is kind of like a budget MacBook, as it falls in the same usage category, but is (rn for me on black friday) LESS THAN HALF the price of the 512 gb - 16 gb ram MacBook Air M2. Ordered the Swift and I am curious to how much I'll like it, I am used to very fast laptops so I'll try and check in on this comment for a review soon.
3:50 Acer has updated the Swift Go with a Ryzen 7640U model featuring 760M (iGPU) graphics. 😊 I have seen benchmarks for the 6840U/780M, which showed a nice performance uplift in gaming.
If you want it for light gaming then I would advise you to go for the 13500H model of course! It will perform much better (or just get any H or HS series processor model)
@@mihirojha4475 7840U is about the same as 13500H (80EU) and 1355U (96EU), but double the graphics performance. 14" laptops usually does not have Intel H variants, but there are some. Linux world needs to fix 7840U/780M because of idle draw (55W drain while not doing anything). Swift with Intel also got touchscreen.
I have a question: what do you think between the Swift 3 and the Swift go 14. if it is worth paying more for the Swift go 14 or better to buy the 3. my home use
Recently watching laptops' reviews to decide on one. Can't understand the hype on opening it with one finger. Never been a factor in past reviews before. I have had 2 Acer laptops in the past. I love them just that they don't always come back from sleep. Hope this unit is fine coz I'm thinking of getting it. :)
How is the keyboard visibility? To me, it looks like they're using grey print on light grey background keys... which doesn't help at all in low light conditions (when it is not backlit).
@@klgadgettv I don't have the laptop yet, I'm thinking of buying it for my student daughter, but I was worried about visibility without backlight, which I wouldn't use continuously, in order to save battery.
It heats but cools down even faster...Seems like u have bought a laptop for the first time...anyways don't panic my friend it's normal... I'm using the intel version of the same model
according to the store I am looking at it on, it is good for editing videos. Most of the laptops there have a low rating, so this sticks out. I'd say it hopefully works well!
Laptop should start having ports such as power, USB & ethenet (permanently plugged in unless on the move) on the back with 3.5mm audio, SD card reader& usb on either left or right sides. It'll be cool if power brick could double function as a usb hub with power passthrough. For heaven's sake, get rid of the touch pad to cut cost when there's bluetooth mouse such as logitech g604 does a far better job. Lastly it'll be nice to bring back DVD/CD rom for those of us who CONSUME media on DVD/CD instead of mediocre streaming such as netflix, Spotify, etc....

Thank you for your time and help with making my decision, definitely a candidate for a new laptop !
