In today's video I'm going to show you the whole process of making silicone shells that you can use to create a beautiful mermaid tops (or hide your freediving weights) to achieve a more realistic mermaid look.
First I'm gonna walk you through a process of a super quick and sustainable mould making using polymorph plastic.
Then I'm going to show you a method of colouring dragon skin silicone with mica pigments by Arteza.
We're going to use a marbling technique when casting the shells and glaze them with a clear coat of silicone to finish them off.

Hi! Thank you for this tutorial. Just to double check- you don’t need release mold spray when working with instamorph and silicone?

Do you think I could use polymorph for larger sized projects like a fluke? I was thinking of doing it in layers since you have to work with it quickly.

Question, when it comes to safety while working with it, do you need to wear respirators and stuff?

I love those! How much do they weigh? Do you have to add extra weight for diving?

Yeah, you'd have to add extra weights. These are to cover your weights for example if you're a mermaid and want to look more realistic while swimming with a weight belt 🙃

How many ounces of silicone did you need for each shell?
