Finally a good photography channel who doesn't mock us with gear they "own", and we "need". Thank you
ohhh, that's so cute.
My kind of photographer - you get right to it, you say it in plain English, you're not the least bit pretentious about it, and you sound like you're having fun with photography (as it should be). Rock on!
itsahellofaname How
Politics do distract, but if you do not know what is going on than how do you keep affording cameras if you do not have work in the future? Find another job, but how? If you do not even know what was going on in the first place and where everything went? :P
@@citizensfirst.1518 what? You do know it really doesn't matter what's going on around you if you know what's going on with you. You are able to roll with it regardless, make adjustments and for you, life will continue pretty much as it did before.
Happy New year
Yes I absolutely agree :)
Now, this is not only the most complete short intro to polarizers I've seen, it's also a perfect example of how to make a good tutorial video. This guy is good!
I've always had this filter in my bag but never really knew what it was for, and just thought it was a cool filter for stronger saturation. Excited to use it to its full potential! Thanks for this video!
Breaking up uneven polarization on wide angle lens with clouds is a helpful tip. I've never thought to do that before. Thanks!
Wow I thought I needed one until I saw this video, thanks 🙏
Thanks man, didn't think it worked. Might've sent a perfectly fine polarizing filter back to the store for nothing.
Hi josh, always love to watch your videos.. keep up ! waiting for more of them to come 😊
2:04 Windows XP background
NOBODY explains the technical side of photography better than this guy.
A simple to understand video with a bit of humour! Thanks!
Undoubtedly the Best photography channel in RUclips ❤️
Just what I needed thanks
Funny, straight to the point, and very informative in language anybody can understand. Great video!
Top man and great vid. Just what I needed to know and with a little bit of humour and some fine imagery thrown into the mix. Cheers!
Very clear and well explained! Please keep up the wonderful work! Thanks!
Cheers you explain clearly and make everything easy to understand and you make learning fun!
Perfect timing, Josh!
love it ..thank you for sharing ...also bloopers amazing keep it always with all videos
Thank you. Had no idea about 90 degree angle to the sun. Great location for the video :)
Excellent concise video, this is exactly what is needed when learning the art of working with light. And your outtakes are fantastic too. Would love to have seen a cartwheel though.
Good thing I watched this video! Would've never realized the CPL I just bought rotates and changes the effect on my camera. Ty
Thanks! That was great
Always concise and fun. Thumbs up.
Thank you for the information
Been watching CPL based videos for years. VERY FIRST VIDEO where the angle of use is mentioned. NONE of the "popular" channels have mentioned it, at least not the videos of said channels I've watched. I would stated that the CPL does work between 45°-90° not just the mentioned 90°. Moreover, the effect is most powerful when the sun is out not on a completely overcast day, on those days the polarizer can make the shot warmer. Thumbs up!
Great video. Thanks so much for your help!!
I rarely use these but I found myself in the snow today. Thanks for that 90 degree reminder.
Love this video. I struggle with most photographic concepts.
I’m dreaming of being a photographer and you definitely earned my subscription your channel has a lot of greats tips for stuff I didn’t know
Keep them coming!
thanks for the tips! I'm 19 and an amateur photographer with 2 some years of experience, very helpful
Thanks! Perfect video answer to my question
Great tutorial! Well done.
Good man. Top review. No messing about with mememememe....to the point...love it.! Thank you
concise and informative, thanks!
Very helpful video - thank you!
Best photography channel on RUclips 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Excellent.. I learnt so much. Thanks
such a great video! thank you!! i came across somebody who said they were a must 100%. this answers my question that it's not always a benefit.
good work!!
wow that's amazing
Well I'm pretty late to the game. But just from watching one of your videos, I know that I'll love all your content! Thank you
THANKYOU!
I enjoy the effect of polarizers sometimes but utilizing reflections on glass, water, ice, metal, etc actually plays a pretty big role in the style of photos I like to take. There are times when a polarizer can really come in handy but for what I typically do, I usually stick to a lone ND filter or no filters at all.
awesome --- never knew about this....
You are awesome!
Great video, Thanx
The first few seconds of this video earned you a sub my dude. That mess was funny.
Josh you’re the Man 👍📸
Thanks!
Great info, thanks for share it.
This video was so well put together and I enjoyed watching >
Great video!!!
Hi Joshua, I like your video, you make it fun, original and interesting, thanks !
Very short, and very good.
thank you, good video
Whoa, thanks for that tip about 90 degrees from the sun! Never knew that...
It should say that in big letters in the package :D I thought mine was broken and I stopped using it. Gotta try again!
awesome video thanks
Thank you for the tutorial. Helpful. just want to understand the angle
Thanks for this video, as usual very useful, great tips and fun host :)
Too bad you are not making more videos.
Tthank for your tips 👌👍
awesome thanks!
It was great to meet you at Nugget Point in NZ
great info!
First time watching any of your videos, and I subscribed after the polarization joke. Well played Sir! :)
Some very useful pointers, Great script and great soundtrack (no-background-music) =Top-Marks /// Just subscribed :)
2:30 "make sure your sky is full of clouds" lol, wish I had that kind of cloud power!
For some of the shots people use a CPL for, can be done in post processing like in increasing sky blue and increasing overall color saturation‘s like let’s say for instance if you’re doing the landscape shot
Haven't watched the video yet, saw the intro and hit the like button :P
Fit and finish of the latest uv filters , CPL filters ,and accessories are well made products .
Nice opening.
Love the intro xD
The intro was funny 🤣🤣🤣
Haha I liked the intro.
Hoya Cpl pro 1... so far working awesome for me 🔥😄
Love seeing a new video, been a while :D Just a quick question: What focal length did the lens you took the picture at 2:14 with have (assuming you took the picture)? I really want to be able to take photos like this without having to crop too harshly but I'm not sure where to start. I'm guessing it's somewhere between 100-200mm?
Nice pic of Mt. Cook
Really solid and efficient presentation of great tips. You're very good. I'm a newbie researching filters now that I finally found means to mount them to my point-and-shoot, but I'm guessing the image in the rather well-lit example picture at 1:08 was taken also with an ND filter to capture the moving water? Or maybe some CPL's that are more light-blocking than others?
nice video..... you could probably give a tutorial to other RUclipsrs about audio quality....🖒🖒🖒
Thx
OMG loved the ending. I can totally relate. I've had almost the exact same problems when shooting my videos. I shoot singlehandedly, which has it own set of problems. How about you?
Excellent Video! Thx. What CPL do you use or what model do you recommend?
Thank you for this great video! Can i use the polorize filter with the black mist pro filter at the same day?
Excellent were have you been. your not aloud holidays lol
great video thanks for posting. quick question. How is your audio so good? any recommendations on good equipment or tips? I am going to be shooting a lot of outdoors stuff for a small documentary film and I could use some tips
Damn funny. You had a new fan in the opening seconds with the political bit. Great video.
Hey Josh thanks for the tutorials. I want to ask, is there any particular product or model of tripod you can recommend? Or which one do you use personnally? Thanks
like your slide transition!!!! can get it somewhere???
The uneven colour tone in the sky actually looks kinda cool. Also, it looks like the old default Windows XP wallpaper.
You mentioned potential problems with wide angle lenses- at what sort of focal length might this become a problem?
Thanks Josh...Help! How do I best deal with sun glare on the water when shooting video of surfing? ND or CPL? I'm using a Canon R5C with RF100-500 lens. Great video content. Thanks for posting.
A great, concise and informative video! But why do you use transitions from the 90s?
I have got CPL filter for my phantom 4 pro can tell me will it work thanks Tony 🇬🇧
I like this guy's simple and direct approach to photography, but it doesn't look like he's created any new content in over 5 years. How does he still have 300K subscribers?
I find it hard to see the difference by eye, when rotating a circular polarizer on a mirrorless camera.
Maybe it's the bright sunlight?
I rely on the histogram on my Sony cameras, with strongest effect = histogram most to the left.
Do you have a better method?
Could you please help me out?
The polarization effect will be the same when I use a 72mm filter on a 58mm thread (throughout an adapter) as if I use a 72mm filter on a 72mm lens?
damn, that was good
which cpL filter is nice.either black one or gray one??
Would you recommend this filter for automotive photography to get rid of reflections in the windows? :)
