Have you looked into the H and Y Revo ring? It's been out for a while (it came from kick-start.) I purchased the 95 mm version of it because most lenses in my bag are covered by its range. I have mostly z lenses . (But here is my tip I purchased the z 40 mm . Just because of the price after it came out and while it was on offer. I was using the z 7-ii body at the time. However I was going to sell it on I was not impressed with the photos, but when my z8 arrived I used the z8 to take a few sample photos thinking to sell it on . I was amazed at the difference with its performance on the z8 .... I really found I have a gem in the z 40mm. matched with the z 8. I am guessing there is not much you have not seen or heard of. But as you take time out for others I thought I would ask you about the K and Y sent up as it covers my range of z lenses needing only one 95 mm lens filter. The one filter covers most my needs as It makes step up rings out dated . I will be honest I tend not to use ND filters so my 95 mm cpl filter works on my z lenses just unclip the holder and attach it in the the next lens no need to change the filter is in a adjustable multi adjustable ring so no need to use stop up rings. One filter 95 mm covers from 77 mm to 95mm . Lense sizes No messing around looking for another filter or another size. Thanks for info I find other knowledgeable blogs useful. So cheers.
Thanks for the detail info. I have used variable ND systems before and I don't like the look of them. I think the standard ND filters look better across the image with edge to edge filtering. Thanks for watching.
Terry, a rookie question. I’m not grasping how you adjust the polarizing filter with a dslr for the most desirable setting. I see no visible effects while looking through the viewfinder and turning the glass, unless my eyes are not picking it up. Thanks…..
Hi Dan, that is a good question. The Polarizer doesn't always work, it has to do with the angle of light. First, make sure you have the Circular Polarizer attached to your lens. I have mistakingly put on an ND filter in the past so check it to be sure. Next , the time of day mid day is the best test. Then make the sure the sun is on your right or left. Face the camera toward something that has reflections and slowly rotate the filter. You should see the reflections reduce, disappear in some cases, then as you keep turning it, the reflections come back. Once you get it so you can see the results, try it in other situations. You should see leaves and greenery get more saturated and be able to see better under the surface of water, as a quick example. If you don't see it working, that means that the light source for that images doesn't have reflections or glare than can be helped by the use of a polarizer. I however, use on almost all my landscape images. Even it if it only help a small amount. Good luck!
Whoa whoa whoa.. Hold on... Now terry, i'm a fan of ur work. But all this time i had been told that a polariser filter's effect can be recreated during post-processing!!!!😮😮😮😮😮😮
Ha! This is about the only filter that can't be recreated. (even ND filter's effects can be created in Photoshop - though too much work, the filter is way easier) But the Polarizer is the king of the filters! Thanks for watching.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I have a ticket waiting with my provider (squarespace) and they say it should be resolved in 72 hours. If you like, you can send me an email: terry@imagelight.com and I'll notify you when it is secure again. Thanks again for letting me know.

Depends on your ND filter.I carry several. 2 stops, 3 stops, 5 stops and I have one that is 10 stops darker. If you are shooting without an in camera meter, you can use your light meter covered by your ND filter to get you the proper exposure.
I loved shooting with film and it still has an appeal, but I do like the way a vision can come to fruition when I shoot digital. Photography is still a blast, enjoy it however you like.

@@tv510 another rookie question....is it worth it to buy the b+w 82mm "master" cpl for my 24-70mm zoom? It cost about 250 US dollars...do you think I should invest on it?
@@SaudagarWarna I’m sure that is a good one, however, that does seem like a lot for one filter. I have the KASE filters that magnetically attach to your lens. I know they have kits, you may want to look at that before you buy. The magnetic ones, are so easy to work with.
Dang, then I would go with the B+W - those are very good filters. You want to go with good glass if you are going to shoot through them. Good luck!@@SaudagarWarna

Too good a explanation. I was planning an Alaska cruise. Wanted to use polariser. Thanks.

@@tv510 So if I'm right when I rotate the filter and see the water is getting darker, the reflections is getting less.
