- A Paul Gascoigne inspired Rangers fought back from 3-1 down to win 4-3 at Easter Road in October 1997.
Marco Negri had opened the scoring with a penalty before Pat McGinlay and Barry Lavety gave Hibs a half-time lead. Stevie Crawford scored after just 42secs of the second half but Rangers scored three more times within the next fifteen minutes through, firstly Jorg Albertz, then Paul Gascoigne before a smiling Negri scored the final goal of the game.
I'm a Hibs fan and I remember this game well...our season collapsed after this unfortunate defeat and we ended up relegated. What a player Gascoigne was at his peak.

Was merely a boy at this time, not even double figures, a rangers fan till now and always, but remember so many other Scottish teams being strong, exciting games, goals galore. This hibs boy harper was great
johnnyM809 yeah a remember this season well to Alex McLeish replaced Jim Duffy as Hibs manager near the end of the season but there was nothing he could do Hibs were relegated, but the following season yous absolutely destroyed every other club in the First Division to come straight back up again the season after.

Hiibs v Rangers is a great fixture I remember George best playing for hibs he was class he was taking a corner kick and a wine bottle was thrown at him he picked it up and pretended to take a swig a class act was best..
Big Barry scored 1 and set up 2. I always wanted him to do well, even when he wasn't at St. Mirren. Albertz goal was a peach. One of the few Rangers players from the 90's that I liked.

i was at this game! right on the segregation in the old wooden main stand at easter road. when we went 4-3 up nearly got lifted going berserk at the junkie Hibs fans!!!
