Was thinking that myself, Gerry McNee on commentary said the home fans sportingly clapped McCoist off, so they probably did. Maybe opposition fans in Scotland will start doing that when we are beating them.....
Even although this is from 1996, it looks like it's from 1976 with the quality of the transmission from Russia and the tinny commentary sound! The golden days of European football! As usual, another fantastic upload - keep them coming! You haven't got the first leg of this tie do you? With big Petric scoring and ripping his shirt off?!
As an Alaniya fan and a 15 year old I was shocked and devastated. They were outclassed and gave up in the end. As someone who seldom had an opportunity to watch european soccer I had little idea how far ahead it was. It is amazing to me now how basic all players look in 2021.
@DAVEDEWINGER he said It is it's a pity not under the merry champion song of " Goal, goal, goal, Spartacus, Spartacus, [Spartak]" which was included in " Football of [klube]" during the survey of the game according to my translation software
Gerry McNee and "Champagne" Charlie Nicholas, who was a great Celtic player, He eventually got a transfer to Arsenal for the big bucks and Bright lights of London.
@@Slickster-rh3mn as crazy as it sounds Gerrard has the team playing better football and although in the grand scheme of things it is really early days (especially for him as a manager) the team and football we play now is on par, if not better than most played during the peak times of the club, could be a change to the game in general, but I don’t think we’re too far off seeing some legends born at rangers again
@@j.g.m7919 Agreed. The Rangers team that nearly made the Champions League final probably was better. It was a more workmanlike team. But Gerrard has got the team playing football thats nicer on the eye. I would be curious how Gerrard's team would fare against Advocaat's team.
@@Slickster-rh3mn don’t want to get too far ahead of myself, but I think today’s current team and style of play would pip it, I feel the football rangers are playing now is the style that was promised by Advocaat (and the failed le guen), I think the club itself was too stuck in its ways to change, but being forced to adapt from the very foundations of the establishment has breathed new life and a new way of thinking with every aspect of the club, if Gerrard is building a team and not just learning the ropes then I see him at rangers for a while and see him achieve some of the best years to date for the club
@mike19821982 Yeah you had money and still did nothing in Europe as you were getting thrashed every second week ie Juventus, Ajax, Auxerre, Grasshopper, Strasbourg and got decimated by Gothenburg in a preliminary round lol. And also lost to teams like AEK Athens and Steaua Bucharest lol. Beating Alania Vladikavkaz in a qualifying round doesn't change that lol.
I listended to this on the radio as a kid🤣 could not belive how many goals was flying in 🇬🇧🇬🇧
how happy to watch these matches..... instead of watching this generation playing....thanks for the upload
Timothy is still loving the fact that deeeeeeeep down he knows in his gut that Rangers will always be the bigger club!
I remember watching this game on stv. Gerry McNee commentary, love it.
If I had to pick from my era,it would be the God that is Brian Laudrup. Best winger British football has seen.imo.for the GERS.
Exaggeration?
Albertz was a magnificent midfielder
wold class
Keep forgetting he was part of 9 in a row team..
The days when we had money and the russians had none, Oh how times have changed :(
Thanks for the upload, more good memories
Goram was unreal.
Rangers always have been and always will be Scotland's biggest club
To right my friend 🤣⚽🇬🇧💯
.....only when you have The European cup 😂😂😂
Most successful club in the world 🌎💯💯🇬🇧🇬🇧
Is it just me or does it sound like the locals are cheering the rangers goals by the fifth goal lol😂
Was thinking that myself, Gerry McNee on commentary said the home fans sportingly clapped McCoist off, so they probably did. Maybe opposition fans in Scotland will start doing that when we are beating them.....
I remember watching this one live
Great to see that again.cheers.
Desperate to find the 3-1 win over Inter Milan in 1984,when they came so lose to overturning the first leg loss.

Nothing basic about that team pal, watching it even now Albertz left foot looks every bit as modern as an iPhone 12
Here from the Greatest Game podcast with Ally McCoist
You know you've scored a belter whan an absolute baller like Ian Durrant is applauding it
Sensational result
Andy Goram was the greatest keeper ever - I love big McCloy, but, Andy Goram gave everything for the club . . .
FFS I don’t think you could compare McCloy to Goram . Big McCloy would chuck the ball into his own net at times 😂

Could you help me to remember. Who are the сommantators of this match? I guess they are very famous.
Кристина Соболева Gerry McNee and ex Celtic player Charlie Nicholas
Gerry McNee and "Champagne" Charlie Nicholas, who was a great Celtic player, He eventually got a transfer to Arsenal for the big bucks and Bright lights of London.
Alania were that bad they let Van Vossen score
Is this 1996 or 1966 what fuckin cameras were they using
I remember thinking the same back i 1996 when it was on the tele. Was quite common with these away ties, absolutely terrible picture and audio.
Жаль не под веселую чемпионскую песню "Гол, гол, гол, Спартак, Спартак, Спартак" которую включили в "Футбольном клубе" во время обзора игры )))
1.58 manager is smoking a cig lol
This mob were Russian champs whit a score 💯💯👍👍😎😎🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
should of played defensive football with laudrup and gazza on counter
Gazza wisnae even playing in this game you fucking imbecile.
A Gers team u could trust from bk to front to get a result
Not in Europe. This was around the time we where getting done all the time in qualifiers. A few years later Advocaat would do better in Europe.

Russian champions some score 💯⚽🇬🇧
Laudrup only comes into action in Europe when there is no pressure
And then they got thumped in the group stage, spent way too much money and went bust. Hence the 1 in a row last year.
RIP Rangers! Lest we forget
Bhoy 10 fuck off Timothy go rattle yir rosery beads
Martinrfc87 Stop taking the bait
What a great name you have there, Bhoy 10. You sound like Jim Torbett's dream date.
Your club forgot to phone the police.
thrashed
This rangers team were actually shite in Europe
So were your precious selick obsessed with the famous Glasgow rangers
@@Selickrip55 they were though but I have no idea why. Some great players

Glad to know you kept up to date with Rangers. Nothing changes simply obsessed
Rangers were one game away from the Final of the very first Champions League ya wee weirdo lol
No disgrace losing to some of these teams unlike the long list of diddy teams who’ve knocked out Cellik!
@@malagaala aye including this season - Sparta Prague reserves 😂😂😂
