@@brucebikesamerica2698 I usually don't even manage to edit our week long family trips so I can only imagine all of the work it takes to edit that much footage you had, but it really makes for a wonderful video memory to share with others and even look back on for yourself years later of that big accomplishment. Great work! :)

Thanks @@keithk888. I do have help on the editing. After recording I cull the videos and upload as soon as I can in case I lose or damage a camera. When I have time I cull some more and trim each video, then upload again for my editor who further trims and refines the episode and ads music and graphics. If anyone wants the contact info for my editor let me know your contact info.

As an retired german butcher I can say: you did your job in the butchery very well. Best wishes from Germany. When I learned to take the skin off we had to do this work with our fists ( is that the right term for a closed hand?) to not cut holes in the skin. Best wishes from Germany

Thanks! I did cut the hide a couple times. Fortunately for me Ray said they have gone way down in value so it wasn't an expensive mistake.

Enjoyed your videos on 66 Bruce, met you at Rusty's in Texas (afternoon beer) looking forward to the next one. All the best Johnny 👍

Hi Johnny, I remember meeting you 👍: The English guy driving Route 66 in the MG Midget with an American friend. I think I met almost as many foreigners, especially European, on Route 66 as I did Americans. I just looked at your RUclips episode and it looks like we went to a lot of the same places including the Bug Ranch, visiting Harley in Erick, The Big Texan Steak House, etc. Nice to talk to you and I hope you had a great trip to the US.

@@brucebikesamerica2698 Excellent thanks Bruce. Have to say I was surprised at how many Europeans I met. You probably came across the very nice Japanese lone cyclist going in the opposite direction to. You appear in my second nice folk we met on Rt 66 video. It was nice watching your videos as you captured a few places we accidentally missed. I'm impressed that you managed to somehow pack a video drone in your luggage 👍. I was very impressed with the Big Texan Brewery and their steak. Keep living the dream, lovely meeting you and all the very best. When Bruce bikes Britain make sure you come to Norwich for a beer or two

@@johnnywarnerperfectroad66 I did meet Teru (I think the right spelling) from Japan near the New Mexico-Arizona border going the other direction. I'd love to find out if he made it to New York because he had a lot of cold weather ahead of him. A very funny guy with his Samurai sword will be on one of my upcoming episodes.

    Another good one Bruce.
I want to start making some videos and have a couple of questions for you as far as what hardware and equipment you are using.
Are you using Apple products or are you using a PC?
Obviously, you have a very upscale set up now, but what would you suggest as some good starting features and equipment for someone beginning to make videos?
I plan to use my iPhone as the camera at least for now as I begin.
What about headphones, microphone, etc. as well as anything I may not be considering.
Any and all tips are appreciated.
Thank you so much and have a spectacular day.
    Alan W Johnson

Hi Alan, I knew nothing about the technical side before this adventure. I used a GoPro Hero10 which is amazingly forgiving and has great stabilization on a bicycle. The drone was a DJI Mini 2 drone that I tried to fly once a day, but the strong winds prevented a lot of days. I bought a Microsoft Surface Laptop Go for the ride because it is relatively small. I'd download to the laptop each night in case I lost the GoPro or drone. I would upload to Google Drive whenever I had internet and time in case my bike and computer were stolen. Then I cull, trim and replace the uploads whenever I have a chance and that takes about 1 hour per pedaling day. Then I cheat and upload to Jasper who edits, adds music and text, and does great work at his professional job. I'm glad to send his details to anyone who sends me a private message. Jasper and I usually make a few edits then I make a thumbnail (I now use Canva) and upload to my RUclips channel.
One strong suggestion I don't see much is to use "dead cats" over your GoPro microphone. They are little furry things that stick on the camera and cut out all the wind noise. You can buy a pack for a few dollars and you will loose several on the way. The audio was unusable when I didn't use them.
