    Are there cabs on the go available near this shrine? We have limited time (maybe just an hour extra) and wanted to visit the Naruto park in Fuji-Q highland

      I have not seen any cars going near the pagoda. Better ask the taxi driver.

    This is my first time in Japan. I want to go here, but I was wondering, can I take the long easy way which is take the subway and a train from Tokyo all the way to this place is it possible?

    • @tokyo_updown_walks
      @tokyo_updown_walks  2 месяца назад +1

      You can take a train from Tokyo Station to Shimoyoshida Station, the nearest station here. Take the JR line to Otsuki Station, then transfer to the Fujikyuko Line and go to Shimoyoshida Station. It looks like it will take about 3 hours.

    • @leon_games5332
      @leon_games5332 2 месяца назад

      OK no problem and I need to buy a separate ticket for the fujikyuko line right??? if so, does that take me back-and-forth only one time sorry I’m asking too many questions. I just want to double make sure.

    • @tokyo_updown_walks
      @tokyo_updown_walks  2 месяца назад

      @@leon_games5332 Basically, tickets for different train companies need separate tickets. But JR and Fujikyukyo may be able to go with one ticket. Because it seems that some trains can go without changing trains on the way.
      www.fujikyu-railway.jp/fujikaiyuu/ (I couldn’t find this page in English. Sorry.)
      I recommend you to ask about it at the JR line ticket office. Big stations such as Tokyo sta, and Shinjuku sta have ticket offices.
      Also, I think they have round-trip tickets, so please ask the station staff about it as well.
      If you have an IC card, you do not need to buy a ticket, just charge it to your IC card.
      e.fujikyu-railway.jp/column/ic_card.php
      I hope my message answers your question.

    How much is a taxi from Kawaguchiko Station to where the Chureito Pagoda is?
    Is Oshini Hakkai worth visiting? Can we get a taxi after Chureito to Oshini? The reason I ask is that google tells me it takes 36 mins from Kawaguchiko Stn to Chureito then 1 hr from Chureito to Oshini.
    Hoping to make our trip faster by not staying too much in a bus or train. Thanks in advance.

    • @tokyo_updown_walks
      @tokyo_updown_walks  Год назад

      From Kawaguchiko station to the entrance of the Pagoda park, when the traffic is smooth the taxi fare will be about 2500 or 3000yen for one way and it’ll take about 20min. From the entrance of the Pagoda park to Oshino-Hakkai doesn’t take 1h by car. But the Mt.Fuji area doesn’t have many taxis like in Tokyo, so it is hard to catch taxis except Kawaguchiko station. I think it’s better to think about using a local bus and train, or renting a bicycle, or hiering a taxi for one-day or half-day.

    • @jackhazz5777
      @jackhazz5777 Год назад +1

      @@tokyo_updown_walks I see. It makes more sense for us to use taxi then from Kawaguchico to Chureito since there are 5 of us and it will be the same amount of fare. And if we can't get any taxi going to Oshino Hakkai, then I guess a bus will do.
      Can we buy a bus ticket going back to Tokyo at the Kawaguchico Stn or do we have to make an online reservation?
      We are excited to go to Japan for the first time but apprehensive at the same time. Tips like this help a lot.
      Thanks so much!

    • @tokyo_updown_walks
      @tokyo_updown_walks  Год назад

      @@jackhazz5777 You need to make a reservation for the bus ticket from Kawaguchiko station to Tokyo. Online is best, but also you can buy ticket at the Shinjuku Bus station “Basta Shinjuku”.

    Thanks for sharing, but it looked like that's not the right time to see Mt. Fuji. I was planning to visit there in October too :), but it looked like there's no snow on the top of the mountain.

    How do you reserve a seat in the bus from Tokyo. Can I just buy a ticket from the station before I ride?

    • @tokyo_updown_walks
      @tokyo_updown_walks  Год назад

      You can buy a ticket at the bus station. “Busta Shinjuku,” the hub bus station in Shinjuku is useful. shinjuku-busterminal.co.jp/en/
      Also you can make a reservation via web site. It’s better to book a seat atleast a day before you go to Mt.Fuji area. www.kousokubus.net/JpnBus/en

      I haven't actually gone in, but according to some webpage, there are coin lockers on the corner in front of the station. You can see a bit of that place's entrance in my video. The Shimo-yoshida station doesn't have coin lockers.

      According to the Fuji-Yoshida city website, take an expressway bus from Gotemba station to Kawaguchiko station (bus-en.fujikyu.co.jp/route/detail/id/1/), then take a world heritage loop-bus. But I’m not sure the world heritage loop bus is in service now. If not, a city loop bus called “town sneaker” or Fuji-kyuko train(e.fujikyu-railway.jp/fare/) , taxi can use.
