Great vid Ben! I think it's super valuable to make this content and team up with classmates who have gone through the process! Way to use your network!
It sounds like a bad day at Private Equity is still better than a bad day at Investment Bank. I remember you told us you worked till 10 am in the morning one time at JP.
Hey Ben, have you ever watched Paolo from Tokyo's "Day in the Life of" video series? Really awesome. He literally goes through the entire day with them from start to finish. It might be a cool idea to do something similar for the far, far future if possible, if you're thinking of making more Good/Bad days, A Day in the Life of-esque videos. Production value looks very high, however. But yeah, 4 hours sleep for days on end? No thank you.
@@woldie7 Yeah, I was giving that a thought; like, how does Paolo get the authorisation to get into every work place? I'm not sure, but if there was a way I think it would look really, really cool to see things from the inside!
@@barryaherne215 i think once Paolo does it a few times, he get's a bunch of examples to show to future places/people that he wants to work with (basically having a good track record / reputaion), which allows him to continue working with bigger and bigger places/people
school is really busy. i only made 3 videos in jan / feb and so i'll do my best to publish in march. issue is just i need to make ppt materials and refresh some modeling skills before i can make a good video about it. so apologies for the delay but i'm doing my best
Working in Private Equity sounds kind of cool but then I start thinking if there is any real point to the work. Making millions but not really creating anything.
hi ben, just wondering if have any insight on how often private equity associates travel and how much it increases as you move up the food chain? i'm really interested in private equity but suck at traveling!
always depends on the firm you're at + the week but my friends travel quite a bit for diligence before investment and to manage their portfolio companies.
Hey Ben, I am trying to sign up for the PE certificate program, and I am running into a problem. I am trying to sign up today 3/19, but it is only taking $300 off. I was wondering who I should contact to fix the issue. Thank you!
Hey ben, Can I get into top b schools like insead hec paris Wharton university for MBA if I have 4 year work experience as a data analyst or will they prefer that candidate should have work experience in an mba related domain Can you please make a separate video on how to transition from IT to MBA grad from top b schools?
(Constructive?) pushback here, as much as I respect this channel, you've never been a PE asso before. I'd have expected you to interview some of your ex-PE classmates. What is this video based off of, other than 'trust me bro', ex-IB?
As an ex-investment banker, I'd be bored to death with that schedule. 4 pm lunch is what I am accustomed too. Although, like a much better job than managing funds for family offices. All the best for your MBA.
Definately analyst. Associate would be extremely hard and in reality not that realistic. Theres pretty much nobody that starts as an associate (ofc even with mba) that was able to skip the 2-3 years of being an analyst just to directly jump into associate

Do you think it would be possible for Ben to do something similar?

Helpful video. Thanks for sharing!
A day in the life of someone working at a hedge fund would be great too

Hi Ben. When you mention financial news post that they read, they used to read WSJ more than Bloomberg? Or is there any difference in that?
How often are the good days and how often the bad ones haha?
