You're affection for Gilmore is incredibly endearing. You've just made yourself an official Critter. I've watched every reaction to this show I can find and you, my friend are top tier.
Felicia Day, in addition to being a terrific casting choice, was the person who introduced Critical Role to the world. She knew that her friends had been playing a D&D campaign in their homes for a couple of years, and asked them to move the game to her Geek & Sundry video channel. That live-streamed game was the basis for Critical Role as an organization, and the source material for this series.
Well done recognizing voices! The cast is pretty stacked and won't get any less so going forward. Helps to be a bunch of voice directors (Taliesin, Liam, Sam) and actors with decades of connections in the industry. :)
The Last of Us games are full of Critical Role people once you know to listen for them. Lots of efforts and minor enemy dialogue lines. One of their first one-shots was a game run by Liam which started out with Travis, Laura, Taliesin and Sam playing themselves recording video game dialogue in a studio. "Critical Role EXTRA - Liam's Quest!" (2016) No spoilers for the campaigns. Does not contain Matt or Marisha since they were away, which was the reason for the one-shot. Ashley absent for the typical reason, namely being in NYC filming Blindspot. Obligatory note that Liam O'Brien is a DAMNED fine GM; my personal favorite after Matt. (no, I'm not procrastinating doing any chores whatsoever, why would you think that)
There's a fair bit of behind-the-scenes stuff from Titmouse and the CR team about the making of this show, especially the first season. Will wait to point you at it because it may be vaguely spoilery (for a strict definition of spoilers), but I bet you will appreciate it. Taught me a fair few titbits about how animation comes together and the choices involved - such as needing to use 3D for budgeting reasons and then trying to integrate it artistically as well as possible. Not least, how deeply animators hate multi-legged creatures and _belts_! haha
You think this show can hurt now? Dude...buckle in. Tenant is the best Scottish dragon since Conerey. They could probably only get him for 2 episodes. Sorry if I've said this before, but I think Scanlan was Tenant's voice director on Ducktales.

Hope you continue this show, this was delightful to watch and it only gets better from here!!

The gold is glowing because during animation someone asked if lightning was hot enough to melt gold and the answer was "most definitely"

Your dad's Elmer Fudd impression was hilarious!
Very much looking forward to your reactions to the rest of the show
