One of the many incredibly sad things about this video is that the majority of the people seen here working in ground zero ultimately went on to develop serious health issues and various forms of cancer. Unfortunately, many of these people died in extreme debt due to their medical bills not being covered and the people who did manage to live this far are still in debt, with way too many of them still fighting like hell to this very day just to get their medical issues taken care of financially. It is beyond disgusting that our government would ever expect them to pay a dime of their own money, considering what these men had to do.
Edit: And the fact that it is 2024 and people are still fighting for assistance blows my mind.

All that toxic cancerous smoke. I was telling all my co-workers it was way to early for us to go back into the city for work but we had no choice. The smell of death and chemicals was disgusting. People wearing masks. No air in the buildings due to lack of electricity in a lot of buildings. The place was like a war zone. A mixture of news camera crews, big electric turbines with their cables, police/dogs, Military men and their high powered rifles all over the place.

I can still remember the smell, the constant smoke and the slippery thick “stuff” under my feet that I knew was extremely unusual. Later diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma - Mantle Cell Lymphoma. It hurts to see and hear them work. So many of the first responders survived and did their job that day. But, just the close proximity to this carnage, killed them years later, one way or another. It's been more than 20 years, I still can't fully comprehend what happened.

    • @Duhclay

Sums up how I feel. I was in the third grade in elementary school at the time. I remember getting off for a half day that day. I walked home with my neighbor that afternoon like I did everyday. I remember him saying "yea we got off early today because of those skyscrapers that fell in New York. He was in 6th grade so he was more aware of what was happening and could explain it to me. I said goodbye to him and went inside my house, and my Mom had the TV on and was just sitting in front of it on her knees watching the tube TV and crying. I went and tried to hug her and ask what was wrong and she tried her best to explain to me what happened without scaring me per se. Then she had to tell me my parrot died as well. Later on she told me that she thinks its because she had the news playing in every room and the stress killed it? idk... Anyway, just my experience. It's a day I can't and won't forget and its ingrained in my brain. Every year as we get closer to the date, I start watching more and more documentaries and footage on it. It's like reliving that day and the disbelief. It's extremely surreal and was a pivotal moment in our nations history that impacts our culture and society more than anyone who was born after that day can imagine. A switch was flipped that day that I wish would have stayed off.

I developed my own fasle sense of understanding by being an engineer who has built and demolished many structures, including high-rises in my decades-long career spanning back before this terrorist attack, and following years of university. But I absolutely failed by not just simply watching a news broadcast to explain gravity.

I think it literally caused me a little PTSD and I wasn’t even there. Watching videos from it gives me some pretty bad anxiety. But it really messed my poor cousin up. Talking about seeing what appeared to be hamburger almost every where you looked. No piece bigger than a baseball or even smaller. The towers were huge and looked very solid, but were ultimately very light weight (for skyscrapers) and there wasn't very much to them in regard to material mass. The parts that fell from 110 stories high punctured through what was a rather superficial ground level structure, filling 'the basin' with debris. The concrete of the floors and gypsum that made up the core were clearly pulverised in the collapse, hence the massive pyroclastic like flows that followed the buildings collapsing. I will never understand the explanations being thrown around that these collapses were caused by some kind of crazy new weapon. Is it less frightening to make up some crazy story abound laser beams from space or nuclear explosions underground, than realise America is weak to attack from an outside enemy?

This may be super late but the towers didn't fall perfectly straight down there was an ever so slightly tilt in one direction and I'm guessing that once it got to the final floors most of the collapsing energy began to slow down and if you watch closely on the videos of its collapse you will notice the core of the building sticking out and surviving for a few moments before it to came down but the last 6 floors on stairwell B survived cuz it was already in a rubble pile before the last bits of the core broke and they most likely broke off around the point that had been buried so anything above that just fell sidewaya

Another thing to add here is that the floors below the WTC (the shopping mall and transit tunnel) were caved in as well. (There were 30 foot steel beams from the upper floors imbedded into the ground through the transit tunnel.) If you listen to the leader from the group of firefighters who survived in stairway B he explains exactly what happened. They were in the right place at the right time to survive. Good thing the lady they were escorting stopped to rest. I think they were on the 6th floor? He went to look for a chair to carry her out in but couldn't find anything. He was trying to convince her to keep going when the rubble started. He said that as the floors pancaked it would cause them to "bounce", harder and harder as the sound came closer. I can't even imagine. Absolutely amazing story.

Where's the forensic investigators? They should've been on site first to seal off and investigate the crime scene. This is equivalent to having janitors clean up a multiple homicide scene before the forensic got there. Even if they "conveniently" found the terrorists passports linking them to the crime, it's still very dubious, unprofessional and outright suspicious to not perform a proper investigation. Oh and it doesn't help that the 9/11 report that took forever to come out was underfunded (they literally spent more money on the Monica Lewinsky investigation than the biggest domestic terrorist act in US history).

not sure what kind of truth people are looking for. i lived across the water from the wtc, saw this with my own eyes. the auto damage doesn't look strange at all, the debris field stretched for blocks, many cars were crushed by parts o f the building and also by parts of the plane some of which flew forward over 7 or more blocks away & crashed into vehicles. many vehicles also caught fire from flaming debris falling to the ground. the smoke stretched out over the water for days, high enough to look like a mountain from afar. nothing in this video seems odd or strange, those bldgs were packed in tight next to one another in the wtc plaza. a combination of debris on fire, falling people, falling pieces of the building, falling plane parts, etc all crushed and burned many vehicles for blocks. wtc 1 and 2 also created a strong wind when it fell down causing more damage. only those who were there can understand, others can only speculate based on what they saw on tv or youtube.
