    For the non-Norwegians:
Backstory: This joke is based on a real news story in Norway. Famous skier Petter Northug was caught driving while drunk, crashing and running away, leaving his friend in the front seat. The newspapers were writing about it while the investigation was ongoing, being all cryptic about "who it was" before they announced it was Northug, so the joke is that the police in this video are finding "clues" about who did it based on typical Petter Northug things, like a ski suit (we call them "condom suits" as slang in Norway. Red Bull, keys to the house of a model he was rumoured to have dated, protein bars, a membership card to a poker website bc he plays poker, etc. (Oh, and he loves insulting Swedish skiers he competed against, hence the DVD. Hilarious).
Translation: Journalist at Aftenposten newspaper (Mette Bugge): "And after a while, the police managed to discover/trace that it was Peter Northug who had sat in the driver's seat of that car". Title: Who can it be, episode 3: Fyllekjøringen (translation: The drunk driving). Journalist (Petter Moen Nilsen) at NRK (Norway's national broadcaster): "They had probably followed some clues". Headline of newspaper article: "The police: We have an idea about who was driving".

Norwegian skier, olympic gold medal winner, and celebrity Petter Northug was driving under the influence.
This song is from a concept Ylvis tried out, called "Stories from Norway" where they made a number of documentaries about true stories from norway, in the style of comedy musicals.
And this is Petter Northug's story over two episodes where they cover his DUI, stint in jail, his reuniting with his family, and eventual rise back into people's good graces.
This particular song is of course a "men of the law"-style of song about the police investigation following a car crash where the driver had gone missing.
