You're bang on the money, a 110bhp sportbike isn't the place to learn the basics. Everyone makes mistakes and I'm glad I made mine on 125s and 400s.
Yes, you could buy an i4 and won't immediately kill you, but you won't have the roadcraft to avoid major mistakes or the machine control to un-fuck yourself when someone does pull out in front of you. We've all gone too fast, but you either grow up and respect them or you become the bloke in the pub that nobody asked who "used to have one of those" until someone pulled out on him.

I enjoyed watching your review. I have a 2002 model. Done nearly 1000 miles since I bought it in Oct 2022. Love the power and handling and if course the looks. Find the economy pretty good too. I commute to work on it. Find the mirrors a bit poor angle wise. Gearbox a bit clunky and low speed maneuvering a little tricky. I see you have an aftermarket gear indicator. Definitely going to get one. Over all loving the bike.

I was looking for a 1000 cc sportsbike to crunch some miles on the highway. Unfortunately there were no good offers at the time but I found a very affordably priced GSX R 600 and I just couldnt wait any longer. I have to say I was not expecting it to be so fun. I was also afraid the seating position would be hard on your forearms, since I have never ridden a sportsbike before, but its not as bad and as long as you keep it over 80 mph, the wind pressure takes all the weight of of your arms.

A choke restricts the airflow and that enriches the FUEL/air mixture.
That switch does the same job as an idle adjustment screw on a carburettor, similar to a tiny twist of the throttle, just another way to enrich fuel to warm up faster

its not like an idle screw, an idle screw adjusts the throttle position when fully closed, basically stopping the throttle from fully closing. completely different to a choke.

After 1 year on a ninja 300 i'm thinking about upgrading to this version of the GSXR600 and your video was very helpfull. And it sounds great, like a 4 cylinder bike should sound!

It does sound really good 😌. It’s going to be a very big step up in power though so I’d advise taking it easy to start with.

@@josbikelife_5643 it's NOT a CHOKE!.. it's a fast idle.. "fuel enrichment" for cold start is managed by the ECU via the O2 sensor.. the "fast idle" is to help avoid slow running stalling or rough running at idle.. fast bikes have NEVER harmed or killed anyone.. idiot riders have though

I night be buying a 2003 gsxr 600 on saturday with 19K miles. Do you like your bike? This one is xlean for 3,000$

I really liked it, but had to sell it because it needed a few new bits that would've cost too much. I would've defenitely kept it if I could've. Not sure what the US market looks like but that kind of mileage sells for about £2k (about 2.5K$)

,, a full tank gets you approx 110 miles, if you rag it about 80-85, it cost £25 to fill up ,, (I ❤my k1 GSXR-600),,

Not great, but certainly not bad either. By my (dodgy) maths it's quite happy to give me 33-47mpg. Higher end is for when riding conservatively, lower end is for more agressive riding. Still quite good, considering the performance.

Honest opinion, that GSXR is "MORE" OF A COLLECTORS PIECE then your CBR. Because suzuki is MAKING CHANGES to their game plan along with DISCONTINUING the GSXR 1K's.... take care of her.... shes worth more then that HONDA.
