    Thank Anne Marie, I am improving my responses to a conversation or question that people make me, but I don't use phrasal verbs still, because every time I want to do it I don't remember them. I need to repeat them many times in order to stamp them in my brain. I share with more people the classes and they also love them and like your professionalism. thank you

    Hello , I am Ahmad , but please just call me Hamada ...
    I am new here , It is an honour to work here ...
    I hope to be great friends ...
    Is this a good introduction ???

    • @peaceonearth8693
      @peaceonearth8693 3 года назад +1

      Ahmad, in my opinion. Honor and great are word choices that are at maximum in meaning. I mean, on a scale from one to ten. Honor is something so sincere and meaningful that it is at ten level for intensity. Where, if you said "I guess it's just ok working here." That would be a level one for intensity about desiring to work somewhere. To be skilled in English you need to learn the various levels of intensity for what you say. Another example, in English you would not meet a girl for the first time and say, "let's get married and spend our whole lives together." That's too intense, too strong of a statement. But, at a more normal word choice for intensity (powerfulness, boldness, seriousness). Meeting a girl for the first time you could correctly say, it's been "nice" meeting you. One step more intense would be to say, it's been a "pleasure" meeting you. One step more intense from that would be, "wow, I'm glad to have met you. I hope we can talk again." (If a stranger then you can exchange cards or numbers.)
      In my opinion, to say that something is an honor means that something is almost sacred or a very big victory. It might be better to say, "I'm very happy to work here." Or, you could say, "I'm looking forward to working here."
      Next, being great friends, could mean very important and closely connected to each other friends. Or, it could mean best friends. When you are just starting to know someone, this is too much friendship. It's not the best to go towards friendship in your first business communications. Because it's a place of work, not a social club. I think better to say, "I hope we can work on a project together sometime." Or say, "I feel like I could learn a lot from you, I hope we'll (we will) be able to talk more in the future."

    • @Speakconfidentenglish
      @Speakconfidentenglish  3 года назад +2

      This is a great start, Ahmad. I like that you included, "but please just call me Hamada." The word 'honour' is quite strong and, if you're new, a more common way to show excitement about the new job is to say, "I'm excited to start working here."

    ( Anne just for let you know the context this conversation happened and it was such a disaster! I got nervous because I thought the boss (Paul) even wouldn't answer my call and I didn't understand his e-mail. But I wrote what I should to say I think haha
