Yeah the episode that changed everything and answered questions that were dropped seasons back. Like how when in ‘Home’ Mary said she was sorry to Sam as he paid the price for the deal she made when Yellow Eyes fed him demon blood. Why in ‘All Hell Breaks Loose Part 1’ she recognized Yellow Eyes the night he came for Sam. And why as Sam found out in season 3 all of Mary’s friends and family died off because Yellow Eyes killed them one by one to conceal his involvement and that there was more to his plans than just making psychic children. The saddest part is Mary’s wish that her children never grow up like she did never came true that her deal lead to her death which is what drove the Winchester men to become hunters.
The actor for Mary’s dad is Mitch Pellegi and he is currently in Jared’s new show “Walker” he plays Jared’s characters dad. From grandpa to dad. When Samuel is possessed by Azazel and sniffs Dean, the sniff was all Mitch’s idea and not in the script
So the "Stop it or we will" is about Sam. I LOVE these flashbacks. Fantastic episode. This is a great season! Great casting for John & Mary. Love your reaction & commentary. Looking forward to the next one. ☮
Castiel talking about Sam with “Stop him. Or we will” - Another chilling line. Finally we know about Mary and how she knew yellow-eyes… some crazy stuff but believe it or not this isn’t the best episode of the season either!
I absolutely love this episode, we get to see the past and it's insane to think that Mary was a hunter before John was!! and the fact that she didn't want her kids to grow up as hunters yet Dean was right there is honestly a bit sad...
I like that you connect the S2 storylines with this S4 plot arc. Kudos to you for picking up some apparent 'loose' threads and connecting the dots here, and it’s exciting to see how it will pan out and how all those earlier plotlines will start to intertwine with the current ones, and it is going to be so epic. So, this episode is truly jam-packed, the origin story of the Winchesters in more ways than one. How they came under Azazel’s radar. How John was the innocent one before he was the badass hunter. How if John had died, Mary won’t be so traumatic as she already knew about the supernatural. But John did not know, he was thrust into the world, and so he went off the rails when Mary died instead, since he had no support network. And the most important thing, about how the episode is all about Sam’s origin story while he was barely in it, about understanding what happened and was going to happen to Sam as it is viewed by Dean’s POV.
*(Some Headcanons to fit in with the show's previous canons)* In the pilot, among the things that John put on his motel wall of horror was an article about ‘cambion’, suggesting that John was speculating about Sam’s lineage. Thus, the line that was said by Azazel that he is not breeding with the mothers of the special children put to rest John’s speculation that Sam is not his son, and in an indirect way it is the way show is telling us that too if ever there was any doubt on that issue. Unfortunately for John, he did not know this reveal about Azazel. John's suspicions might have led him to let Sam be the bait to the shtriga in S1E18 Something Wicked (something similar to the Changeling episode where the mother tried to kill her daughter as she suspected that she is no longer human). It was not out of nowhere that John could and willingly do that to his kid just to kill that shtriga thing. Then when Sam was attacked, his conviction wavered momentarily and he felt guilty and thus projected his guilty feelings onto Dean. Which then led to Dean always minding what his dad told him thereafter, and the beginning of his blind faith in his dad started. This also later led to John’s argument with Sam when Sam wanted to go to college. He was not being arbitrarily belligerent towards Sam wanting to live a normal life. He didn’t want Sam to be alone. He was scared at any given chance that Sam might be influenced by any dark supernatural forces (as he had this suspicions already - his family was attacked by demons) if he and Dean were not around to protect Sam against such a threat. This also led him to forcibly making Sam Dean’s priority in his life in any which way. And round and round we go when Azazel basically reconfirm John's suspicions about Sam in S2 premiere episode about the special children, but the clock is ticking on his life. So he had to put the burden on Dean instead. Such a tragic origin backstory for the Winchesters ...
Like you said in the reaction it’s a shame Sam never got to meet his mother, your reactions are amazing and I can’t wait to see you watch season four 😊😊

The Back to the Future references always crack me up!
Too bad we never got a "Great Scott" from Dean.
I feel bad that I’ve never seen it🤣
I agree, this is a great episode! And for us old people as soon as we saw that Tab advertisement on the bus bench we knew we were back in time.

Castiel is my favorite character, for sure 😊

It looks like that warning is needed😬 it must be one of the best, surely!

Very sad!! And indirectly it was her decision that caused it😩
Love Mary's backstory!💕
9:45 this part absolutely destroyed me
"You have to stop it," the impossible task given to Dean by an angel of the lord, an agent of fate itself with wings.

Wow, some really in-depth theories there! I love how even John’s notes contain so much more information that you could analyse🤔

Thank you! It’s always Dean that gets time with her, when is it Sammy’s turn😭😭
I've loved your reactions since anne with an e and they just keep getting better!! If you have time you should react to the show Lockwood and co!!
Update again soon
So the song remains the same.
This is a great episode except for Castiel who I don't like at all. He's too arrogant.
He’s not arrogant. He’s just a robot who follows at the moment
