In regards to Nick prolonged silent response in the shower last episode, I interpreted it as he is thinking of how in the sea he basically made Charlie’s worst case scenario come true when Charlie wanted to confess his love since he’s so considerate and empathetic. Love your reactions!

It's not that Brenner's immune to Eleven's powers, she couldn't fling him away because her powers are still weak and not fully back at this point

I have rewatched season one and two an embarrassingly amount of times 😬. I binged season three yesterday so I could start watching reactions to it. It about killed me 😭

Owens knew that he, alone, would not be able to help Eleven regain her powers. It was Brenner original research and experiments that started all of this. Also, you didn't see a body after the Demogorgon attacked him in the school. If you look closely, you will see a scar across the left side of his face.

Hayley Atwell did a fabulous job as Diane. It’s different to the original of course but it’s no less impactful. Having someone who loves him but has a slight more distance and objectivity adds a lot of authority to what she says. The acting in this show is just perfection. I really hope this helps some people out there.

Very interesting to me how Famine affected people in different ways. It was very sad how Dean was seeing Sam in a whole different way when he was defeating Famine. It's like he didn't even recognize him. And to see Dean praying at the end was so touching. Dean crying always gets me. Great commentary.

I always like this episode. The similarities between buffy and ampata’s lives is so interesting. I always burst out laughing when Xander asks ampata if she is a praying mantis and Cordelia is just a hoot. “They don’t even speak American.”

I still can’t say enough about how good this season is. The reveal of Dean essentially being dead inside is heartbreaking.

Buffy whaling on Giles until she gets her way...🤣 Ampata is definitely sympathetic. After all, even Buffy quailed initially at her destiny. Ampata hesitated at killing Xander long enough that she completely reverted to being a mummy. Xander's main virtue(some would say "only") is his courage. He's not smart, or strong or a skilled fighter...but he will repeatedly face death for his friends. As Gunnery Sergeant Hartman says "He's silly and he's ignorant, but he's got guts. Sometimes guts are enough."

The one muslim character in a gay tv show and they make him want to drink alcohol and make him gay. What happened to true representation when it comes to muslims, a muslim in real life would not be drinking alcohol, okay some do but most likely an average muslim im the UK wouldnt and an average muslim in the UK certainly wouldnt be acting on their attractions i mean they may have an attraction to the same gender yeah but they wouldnt act on it due to their religion. The hypocricy is unreal, talking about wanting good representation for lgbtq+ and then not giving muslims a true and accurate representation

He does appear once or twice more or so, so you’ll just have to keep watching.... Little side characters or extras often return in Buffy sometimes hugely for one or two more episodes sometimes for a long time sometimes for a tiny bit. Sometimes soon, sometimes the following episod, sometimes not until the next season and sometimes not for seasons down the road, years later. In small ways, as suddenly true core charters, or never. You never know. And every event that happens to main core adds up and has impact on them and it can eventually add to huge things. There are zero filler episodes. Every little interaction between the core among themselves and events effects everyone and eventually leads to things. Be it next episode or four seasons later.

What always strikes me from this episode? Willow's rainbow suspenders...

"her death was out of her hands" Well, that's the worst part, she never really truely died. She mentions touring(her exhibit being moved around the world) and the whole thing about her english being good is because she listened to it for centuries.

I liked your analysis of the similarities and differences between Buffy and Ampata. BtVS is all about character development. I feel the first season episodes had the black-and-white morality of fairy tales: characters were either good or bad, Buffy always won, and nobody died that we really cared about. Ampata is one of the first characters in the show who is morally ambiguous, as you noted.

I like how Xander had if figured out right at the start, that the guy woke the mummy.

It only just occurred to me that the bodyguard was right and they were responsible. They did steal part of the seal, stopping him from just reassembling it as Giles almost did.

A minority opinion but this is one of my favourite of the ‘weaker’ episodes. Like everyone I thought Willow dressed in her costume being noticed by a guy was great. But I also just really like the Inca Mummy Girl, her personality and her dilemma.

Regarding James Marsters' accent: "Marsters has said that his accent wasn't very good at first, and that he embarrassed Head by mispronouncing words. Head told Marsters that he was embarrassing him back home and that he was going to tutor him whether he wanted to or not. Marsters has said that Head's tutoring helped make his accent believable to English people."

Oz definitely the coolest character in The Buffyverse. Nobody does laid back like Oz, his witty one liners and observations are brilliant throughout. When he says 'you're only interested in a girl who can walk or talk' reply 'she doesn't have to talk', the look on Oz's face. Inca Mummy Girl one of the weaker episodes of S2 Xander showing his complete innocence and gullibility. We all feel for Willow who at this stage in the show is so meek and quiet, always feeling looked over. We all seem to forget what an awful bully and generally horrible vacuous person Cordelia was, totally putting down Willow at every opportunity throughout the early parts of the show, we see that again here. The metaphor of the show saying basically looks aren't everything, and be careful as things are never what they seem. Jonathan gets a lucky escape here along with Xander also. Xander comes through at the end and saves Willow's life. Great foreshadowing shown again here with Xander and his taste in women after his encounter with the Preying Mantis in Teacher's Pet.
