Great story. I speak from experience as I came to the US on a soccer scholarship in January 1984. I had a spring to prove myself. I fortunately was good enough and as I was a couple years older (24), I was made captain. I just recently retired from 31 years of college coaching. Can’t believe a coach would cut you after 3 scrimmage games and not let you practice. Unfortunately, it is part of the landscape and lads coming from England need to be more educated in the process and get to know what they are getting into. You can only appreciate the mountain tops when you have experienced the valleys.
Congratulations on the coaching career! I agree with the lack of information about college soccer. Educating the next generation is the new goal for this channel.
@@lotgriff That is great to hear. I have done a bit of consulting myself recently. It can be an utter minefield out there if you are not careful, particularly with the smaller schools and their mass recruiting to help admissions.
