Every once in a while I come here to watch this again. Maybe the best sport event I ever watched. In 2012 I watched in together with my mum on the TV but live. Even she was very excited although she isn´t into golf. I also liked the commentator. You don´t have to make that more exciting with your voice because it already reached peak excitement. Thank you Carlo Knauss!
This really fulfills the stereotype of Germans being boring and repressed. Jesus Christ, one of golf's greatest moments, a German player putting to clinch it for Europe, and the commentator sounds as if he's reading some regulations from a tax code.
That´s because you don´t understand what he says and you don´t recognize the tension in his voice. He could barely speak. I respect that he´s no one of the modern announcers with big voices und small brains - my kids call them "Howl-Screem-Announcers" - but calm and very competent. Believe me or not, he was very excited for sure. He´s a former tour pro and a former coach of Germany´s national golf team. He loves Golf. You probably don´t know: The press spokesman of Sky Germany, Ralf Fürther, said: "Despite all the pleasure about Europe´s or Germany´s success, our announcers are instructed to commend journalistically well-balanced." In other words: He was instructed not to show to much pleasure.

Martin Kaymer war nicht umsonst Nr. 1 der Welt, er ist etwas Besonderes ❤ Klasse Performance und dieser Put ist für die Ewigkeit 🎉
My favorite German of all time !!!!!!
Wow I forgot how long this putt actually was! I remembered it being like 3ft.
Bester deutscher Golfer seit Bernhard Langer 😊

The commentator admitted that he filled his pants at that last putt, that was the pinnacle of emotional expression for him I believe
