Hello, I just found your channel and I’m going through the videos. I recently got back into motorcycles after several years. About 4 years ago I bought a used KTM 1090 Adventure. It only had 1200 miles and had absolutely every mod available. I rode that for 3 years and it was incredibly reliable. Two things caused me to shop. Seat height and engine heat. I went to my dealership and bought a 2022 GS with everything on it. Triple black. The first mod was foot pegs. I didn’t like the ones that came with it for the reasons you cited. I also put the side stand foot enlarger. This is good off road as well as soft pavement in the summer. I also purchased the Puig wind screen but it was too big. So I purchased the Touratech screen. It comes in three sizes and I chose the middle one in smoke and it’s perfect. You can see the TFT much better under the smoke. Especially in the morning sun when you are riding east. Excellent screen. For lights I chose Clearwater and I have been very happy with them primarily because cars can see me better. At the recommendation of my dealer I purchased the Billy tail light which is a tag holder. Much brighter than the tail light and you can program a strobe where legal. If someone gets too close on my 6 I lightly hit the rear brakes a couple times and they always back off. I highly recommend these. I added the Lone Rider headlight protector. Bumot Panniers and a Mosko Moto duffel. So, it’s coming along and is just about where I want it. At some point I hope you do a biography. Like how you ended up in Portugal etc. I absolutely love my GS. As far as the GS haters? I love it. At the end of the day I love motorcycles and I am not judgemental on what someone rides. Best!
Wow thank you so much for your feedback and kind words. I would love to chat more about why I am here with everyone. Maybe when I hit a few thousand subs I’ll do a live podcast. Yes the GS is a beast of a bike. I am so glad your loving it. Sounds like you have done some very nice mods to the bike. I would really like that brighter tail light. Probly go with Denali as I already have the cansmart system.
Because then you don’t lose out on having USB plugs. Newer GS’ already have this stock. I had to buy USB ports. Now I can charge my phone or comms on king trips
@@AmericanAbroad1 ah! My R1250GS has a USB socket on the dash, and a DIN socket low near the seat. Frankly I’d rather have the DIN socket on the dash, like my 2009 F800GS. Then I can run whatever I want. I liked running a DIN plug with cord to SAE plug into my tank bag. I wonder if the USB socket and DIN socket has the same wire connector? If so, maybe I could swap mine.
I like how you said bollocks not heard an american say that lol. I have a 2011 bmw k1600gtl went from a zzr1400 or zx14r. A lot more comfortable i k1600 has 2 of them power outlets one at the front the other near the rear shock
