As a nurse myself of over 20 years, it's important to mention that x dollars per hour is likely not base pay. And that makes all the difference. Like what conditions are you working in for 70/hr? Nights, weekends, nurse:patient ratio, state even...? Just throwing out a number without that context honestly perpetuates more misconceptions about nursing and sets people up for disillusionment.

To clarify for those who have not seen my other videos talking about this, the $114 an hour position I held was a 13 week crisis contract. I was day shift, working 36 hours a week, 41 miles from my home. I was considered a local travel nurse and I did not receive a food stipend. It was a 5:1 patient ratios on med surg. We also worked in the ER overflow area which was a makeshift med surg floor. The hospital had the national guard working at it as it cleaning staff.
