THANK YOU! Finally a practical video for new players! So many videos show off fun-looking elite specializations, which you can't get without an expansion + hero points. Then the videos showing how to get the hero points require a flying mount, which require you to go through the story, and suddenly new players are back where they started with no elite specialization and a daunting grind to unlock it. This gives us another option.
Man I wish elite specializations didn't require so many points. Fully unlocking just one of them requires you to get all hero points in at least 2 of the expansions just to dump them into one. It's not so bad for most classes, but as revenant the elite spec is completely useless unless it's maxed out because you straight up don't have any skills.
You can easily get all you need just by going to the PoF expansion, and as soon as the intro part is done you can go get them all across the maps. This is how i do it, takes maybe...1.5-2 hours once you know where they all are, and you can unlock an elite spec.
Sure, get in wvw during peak hours ( NA around 8pm ) stay with large group and follow them. When you acquire your first point, put 1 point in warclaw mount abilitie to unlock it's achievements. Complete the achievements then buy the warclaw. If you stay with a group, you'll get your achievements faster.
Just make sure you have the Warclaw Track selected, or your WvW points won’t move towards the final reward, which is a requirement to get the Mount. The other requirements can be completed by simply following a big group around and trying to help out
I did something a little bit similar with my Engineer a few weeks ago, but avoided WvW/PvP basically because I’m useless at it! Got him to level 15 doing hearts in the Human starting zone. After that I Installed the Blish-HUD add-on and Tekkit’s routing pack and cleared the rest of the zone of hearts, POIs/vistas and hero points. Teleported to the Asura starting zone and did the same there, then likewise with the other three starter zones. Brings in a ton of XP, hero points to use for early traits and loot you can sell on the TP. I was probably high enough in level by this point to have skipped doing the same process for the 15-25 zones, but I did them anyway as I liked the idea of eventually going for world completion on this particular character and it DID keep up a steady flow of hero points coming in, but the rate of incoming XP itself probably wasn’t optimal with that approach, if I’m honest. Basically, you get to a zone suitable for your level and clear it of hearts, POIs/vistas and hero points, then repeat the process for the equivalent zone in the other race’s parts of the world. The bulk of it takes place in core Tyria, so you don’t really need a mount, although a raptor is always quicker for covering distance or avoiding mobs and there were a couple of times when a springer got me somewhere faster than the normal route. It got me to level 80 quicker than any of my other characters and I’d amassed so many hero points by then that it only needed about six from one of the expansion packs to complete his Mechanist elite spec - in my case it was PoF, as I know the hero point locations in the first two zones from memory! It felt like less of a slog than levelling the ‘normal’ way, but more valid than using an 80-boost, as it actually involved playing the character and game. Even picked up a few in-game Achievements along the way. Definitely the way I’ll level a new character from now on - and I wish I’d known about it when I’d started my others!
Oh balls. I only unlocked a couple skills lines in and saved the rest of my points because i just wanted to have enough points to fully unlock the elite spec. So now i have 200 odd points but have to unlock all basic stuff first anyway lol.
@@DjDragon5000 Yup. I just thought I'd leave an update for people in the comments seeing as I didn't see one and the video hasn't been updated to say it. 🙂👍
@@jermu8706 because this guide's basic rotation seems to include stuff way down the branches of those hero point trees, unless I am misreading. Apologies if I came off as some kind of hater, I am loving this game, it just seems like a lot thrown at me, every level i get a message that I unlocked 5 more things I have no idea about. So, I;m looking up things like Hero points, even though by your comments, I'm guessing I'm worrying about that too soon, maybe.
@Joe Campbell No worries. This guide has no choice to start at level 80 bcz Hero Points can only be accumulated at level 80 only. I have multiple guides on other aspects that doesnt requires to be level 80. It depends what you are looking for as guide. Cheers ^^

My friend showed my Blish after I was like lvl 65. Getting to 80 was so much faster afterward lol

So when choosing Deadeye elite spec, does that really mean we need to stick onto a rifle, and no longer allowed to choose dual wielding two pistols?
No, you can use rifle and another set of weapon to your choice

you can use the teleport to friend every 10 min, not 1 hour. ✌

WHY I CANT UNLOCK ONE ELITE SPEC😭
why does every 'beginner' and 'new player guide in guild wars 2 start with "once you hit level 80"?
Not all guides starts that way. But ok.
why would you be farming hero points pre 80
