I have wasted about an hour trying to figure this out for a black icon. Some of these videos on YT just talk for 5 minutes before they get into the method and it's not even what I need! You quickly went over the problem and explained the solution at a pace that was easy to follow. Looking forward to searching you up for more tutorials! #subbed
Brendan, your videos are great. You explain everything so well. You tell “why” do something, not just do it. “Using this option does this “. I really look forward to your videos. Keep it up!👍
what if i had to add more colors, like for example what if i wanted each word to have different colors.. how do i go about that.. tried creating a similar mask for and add a new color but did not work.. could you help with this please.
Thanks! The color overlay works well but I'm trying to make a black jpg graphic into a white on transparent background. When I use the second method and change the color to white then export as a png with transparency, I just get a white box. Could you add information about creating white graphics on transparent backgrounds and also add info about how you recommend exporting the resulting graphic for use in other compositions?
Thank you for the video. It did not work for me though. It is not a vector? single layer with no background and when I used the second method it does not isolate the logo from the plain color background. Any ideas from other videos you have done?
When I save as a new file then reopen and copy onto an image it keeps coming up in it's original colour form. Not as a black or white transparent logo as I am trying to create. What am I doing wrong? Cheers Ben
How do i save it now? i changed a few colors in a couple of the lettering like u did in the first example, but when i save it, it just saves the original color and not the changes i made
I am having issues selecting my image properly to make a square show around my image in the layers box like shown in your video and it's preventing me from seeing "Select > Color Range" . What am I doing wrong?
I really enjoyed your video and you explained things in great detail. The only thing I would suggest is to explain things much slower. You were going too quick and I was constantly pausing and going back and forth. Other than that, I thought this video was incredibly helpful!
Well since a logo is so subjective it’s hard to give tips for making any kind of logo since it would require different steps depending on the shape. I’ll try to think of something that would be fitting as a general purpose tutorial 🤔
Is the logo properly selected? If the logo on a transparent background? Is the logo layer highlighted in the layers panel? Those are a few simple things that might be going wrong!
