We just got a new house built we're moving in Monday they have fitted that Baxi one with the same front as the one saying Main on it on the video, but our one has that Baxi name whare the other two have it. We can't get the digital thermostats to work in the rooms to control the boiler its so hot the timers on at 16.45pm for it coming on so hopefully I'll learn a good bit here on how to program the thing it's being a bit of a bugger just now I've had to just turn the temp on the boiler right down to shut it off there!
Hi tomkat, have one of the 800 fitted and am looking into balancing my rads. Is it possible using the dials etc and the screen on the control panel to monitors the radiator return temp so I can checkout it’s no more then say 55 which I believe is best for efficiency and condensing
Good video for comparison between main and baxi , but didn't see you take the flow turbine out of the duotec , they just snap!! No doubt the 600 will be the same 😮
1) very minimum controls, no feedback to end user. 2) No LED backlight light on screen. 3) No Light on to signify boiler in use 4) Blue levers are very tight, can see them stiffening over the years.
What's your thoughts on all the long warranties offered by manufacturers. My understanding its all on water quality something you have no control over especially after initial installation. Especially if customers drain systems or change rads. Its a installer ticking time bomb. The way things are going after say five years of servicing ill be walking away from them and pass them to the next engineer to get it in the neck when they go wrong and the manufacturers scream water quality.
Annoying the wiring/ magnets, and they don’t look pretty. The knob/ commission set up is a bit old fashioned. No lpg version on the 800 only the 600, great boilers and the 800 works out best I recon 💰💰💪.
@@julianhawker7672 Plastic and hard to service is not a fault , but boiler refusing to work due to primary Heat EX blocked like in Baxi is the real problem.
@@Han-es8qu Never had this problem on any of the baxi's I have seen. I think WB started to lose the plot a long time ago and haven't made a good boiler in years Gas or Oil............... and i fitted lots of WB pre condensing. We will have to agree to disagree. ;-)
Ive installed over 20+ main eco compact boiler last year . Great boilers. No issues at all
I like your honest and unbiased reviews well done.
looks well designed with plenty of room for chunky hands.....cheers fella.
Thanks Derek
Nice positive unbiased review.
Easy boilers to fit and repair not over engineered.
Definitely can't fault the main for the price my go to choice . Excellent range cheers
Honestly great boilers installed a lot not had any issues since fitting
Great wee boilers, I have a Vaillant Ecotec Plus at home but would happily swap for a Main Eco with OT modulation 😀
Main eco compact are great for rentals landlords love budget boiler that are built well.

You get the easyfill filling loop with the 600/800
You get it with the Main now too 👍
thanks Derek

shame that the water doesnt go down the overflow from the air duct into the sump. new boilers they upped the size of that rubber tube
Which is better in your opinion FT or bobbin?
Do Baxi use the bobbin type in any other models?
Look out for my video soon on the different baxi boilers and what I like and don’t like on them 👍🏻
Will do! Thanks for taking the time to film & upload your videos. 👍
Cannot get mine on lol it’s only been installed a week any ideas
Then I would get the installer back to check his workmanship.
@@Roadrunner45 yeah they came back out it was my pressure due to a leaky radiator all fixed now and new radiator

Just doing a video on it so look out for it soon
These reviews are for people that already know about boilers. What about the people that don't? We just want to know the name of a good boiler.

One of the comments down here says the Heat Exchangers are crap? Anyone else found this? Just bought one of these... 🙄

Adjustable spanners should be banned lol.
I have a vaillant pro28 broke down 4 times last year fitted in 2012 crap boiler
Worsters' are the best in terms of long-lasting and the least problems, massive size both heat exchangers that never scale up.
WB are cr#p IMO and almost all the other heating engineers I know, lots of leaking plastic bits and awkward to service properly......................
This is Baxi vid

All the coil Heat Exchagers are totally crap, they wont last more than 2 years and one year in a hard water area.
