I'd love to see how you would tackle modeling a fighter jet engine nozzle. Most designs are very intricate and rigging them was always a challenge for me.
Hello mike, I have one issue in maya if you can help it is nothing to do with this video tutorial, the issue is I created a lion and I assigned Xgen fur to it, after couple of steps of assigning it stops showing the render output, it throws an error i.e, "Error: XGen: Trouble closing ptx file: Can't write to ptex file: D:/3D_tutorials/Lion/LION/xgen/collections/body/fur/groom//bend/lion1.ptx File exists" I am using maya 2017. The path is my local files, any idea about this?? thanks you in advance
There is also an option in the viewport that says 'show standard material' or something similar. There is also a little Button for it. Its a circle, half Solid half checkerboard

You did a hard surface project.
So what would you say about doing this by sculpting in Zbrush!
:)
Why would I ? It is not an organic model
sir, plz give me a character reference image
the only thing that I dont like is that Mike dont use Arnold to Render the 3D model it would be more intersting if he did it
I usually use other renderers like IRay, Renderman etc
Excelent 👌
Thank you Nestor
Are artists allowed to follow your tutorials and create the 3d models and post them on their portfolio?
Sure, please mention "based on tutorial by MH Tutorials"
Mike Hermes Oh ok, cool. Is that to give u credit?
Well, as a reference, not because of the modeling
Mike Hermes sounds good Mike. Thanks!
Please upload animation video of this of you get time to make one
