You don’t have to engage your hand break, just opening the door while in drive, it automatically engages hand brake and the gear knob moves to Park…try it
I just love the new Ranger and am going to buy one!
I have owned four rangers, 1985, 1990, 2001 and 2011. The 2001 was by far the best one. The 2011 though reliable is rusting due to poor design choices made by Ford to reduce costs. The doors are rusting due to lack of drainage and bed has a whole in it over the muffler because they got rid of the heat shields and put a heat pad under the floor of the bed which doesn nothing but collect moisture. The 4 Liter SOHC engine has 279,000 miles on it and doesn't use oil, 5 speed transmission is fine. My 2001 had 296,000 on it and everything worked and there was no rust at all except the running boards. The new Ranger has the 2.3 L turbo charged Eco Boost engine. It is prone to overheating, turbocharger failures and head gasket failures. The fuel economy isn't significantly better then the old bullet proof 4 liter six cylinder and it has a complex 10 speed transmission. Add in you must use premium fuel if you tow and in hot heather the new Ranger just doesn't cut it. For these reasons when I buy another truck it will not be a Ford Ranger and it will be a Toyota Tacoma with a naturally aspirated six and a legendary ruggedness and longevity.

I wish you well with your new Tacoma, Mr fortune-teller. I on the other hand will first purchase this new RANGER and then share my experience after the fact, because I don't want a crystal ball 🔮

@@agreylekaba9635 depends the v6 goes for 950k but dealership sell it for 980k the 2.0 wildtrack 4x4 860k not sure we ordered the V6 and paid 985k

Nice video bru, that's a massive fuel tank for those that drive long distance and living in rural areas and do agriculture or farming. I like the loading bay exterior side step.
Thanks for pointing out the side step , I ddnt mention it in the review but it’s a really great addition to the Ranger.
The massive fuel tank is handy , especially for long distance trips , one issue I have with my Ford fiesta is the 40L fuel tank because I constantly have to top it up.
I have owned 2 Ford Rangers, 2011 intro 2.0 2x4 Dif Lock and then 2019 everest 2.0 4x4. Hope to drive the NXT Gen

That's basically a Ford Maverick here in the states, It's smaller than the ranger. But this version looks like it offers some features found in the F-150. Interesting!

It’s crazy how more expensive the ranger is in South Africa in Aus it’s so much cheaper even if you convert and has all the bells and whistles
I had no idea it costs more in SA than Australia, especially considering that it’s built in South Africa 🇿🇦 I would have expected it to be the cheaper.

Mrhowmuch do you recommend buying a vehicle from We Buy Cars?
I personally had a bad experience but there are other people that I know who found proper cars , so if you go for cheaper cars rather go with a mechanic or someone who knows cars very well to help you choose a decent one that won’t give you problems but if you’d rather not take the risk it’s better to buy from a dealership.

I would pick the upcoming AMAROK though I know it's likely to be more expensive than the ford

Am getting used to the face, as i always see them being tested Silverton. I would go for the ranger. looks more newer than all the current bakkies we have in RSA
I agree it definitely has a very modern design compared to some other bakkies more , especially in the interior.
Imagine the new Wildtrak will sell in my country for 1284000 R. I make a down payment of 267000 R to secure one when it arrives.
The price has increased by 134000R vs the old model which is still on sale. The electric bed cover comes as standard on rhe old model here. We dont get options. I speak to my sales rep who has seen rhe first batch to arrive and she tells me they have come without rhe bed cover.
Is it not a reasonable expectation that the Wildtrak should come with a cover given that the old models have it?
I'll go for the Nissan navara pro 4X cause it's underrated

Service plan........ You'd think that paying 16k per month, a service plan would be wiggled in there somewhere.
No matter how valid the reasons are behind this story of selling cars without a service plan , I’m still not a fan of this new method , a brand new car should come with a service plan as standard.
@@mrhowmuch I don't know if it's a case of Ford having way too much faith in their brand and pricing but consumers love a good deal... And this is not one of them
@@MrEltonArendse in terms of new legislation manufacturers may no longer compell vehicle owners to service their vehicles at dealerships only. Ford is the first to comply with the new regulations. Ford gives you the choice to either take a service plan from the dealership or use a service provider of your choice. Warranty will not be affected, but in the event of a claim it will be easier to prove if a Ford dealership was used.
I would choose the Ford Ranger over the Hilux. It just looks so much better inside. The Hilux is quite bland compared to this

Well given a budget of R800 000.00 to buy a Bakkie, I'd buy the Ford ranger outgoing model and be left with some change, afterall this Bakkie is great, ford did a great job here
I’ve driven both generations and there’s nothing wrong with saving a bit of money 💰
The outgoing model is still a very capable Bakkie with great performance aswell.
