By some miracle I still managed to come out naturally pretty. I don’t get it, but thanks, hopefully I’m proof that you don’t need a button nose to be fabulous? lol
For everyone who's nose shape wasn't mentioned: 1. Find a propper straight image of a nose shape you like (or even better: a picture of youself where you love how your nose looks) 2. Save image and increase contrast in photo editor 3. Draw the light and dark areas you see onto your nose and blend 👍

I've always had a crush on this guy... lmao he's the first RUclips makeup artist I've ever followed and since then I started cosmetology school and graduated in october. :)
I feel like he didn't because he didn't want to make people feel bad about their nose and he knows we can all just Google it...but yes he could've just explained the shapes a bit more
He has always been very vocal in types of videos like this that he would never want to make someone feel bad or self conscious by saying of you have a crooked nose let me do a tutorial on it.. Just not his style
I know he means well, but how am I suppose to know what kind of nose I have if I don't know what those types of noses look like? Just telling me what nose shape the technique is for doesn't help me. Which is why I said at the very least a drawing.
It would be helpful to insert little pictures showing what the nose shapes look like. I have a short nose with a little ball at the tip. The bridge is narrow and the light hits the top of the tip. I thought of putting a bit of contour where the light hits, but then it looks dirty or sun burned.
Finally someone explained how to fix the roundness of my nose. I HATE having a "button nose" and the classic nose contour every video shows only makes my nose look worse. Thank you 🙌🏻
You didn't mention the nose shape where some people have a bump at the bridge of their nose, which is my case. But perhaps there isn't enough contour in the world to correct that. :P
Thank you so much for the in-depth demo! Finally someone that explains how to re-shape this prominent facial feature! I'm glad to see I was on the right track to shape my nose and got a tip on how to make it even better. This is a very different content than all the other one-nose-contour-to-fit-them-all style of tutorials I've seen, and is very very welcome!
This was SO helpful! As someone who doesn't like to put on much makeup, but still wants to contour a little this was one of the most practical tutorials!🤩🤩Thank you!
You can also make the bridge of your nose look thinner without contouring it at all by using some eyeliner in the inner corner of your eye instead of highliting it. It will make your eyes look closed together which will automatically make the nose there look thinner.

This just saved my life. Just now getting into makeup. However, I do want to get into highlighting and contouring to look ever better but still natural. The front of my nose is very narrow and looks big from a side profile. And before I saw this video I just did your run of the mill 2 contour lines and highlight in the middle. But now I see the error of my ways. I have subscribed to your channel and cannot wait to see what other videos you post. This was a life saver. Thank you!! Keep it up!
No make up artist has ever figured out how to contour my nose. I have a bump almost at the middle of the nose (closer to the top). I even went to a plastic surgeon but rhinoplasty scares me. Any tips?
Devlin Sky, I have never seen a bad nose job. They will always come out with an improvement. I had a hump removed from my nose which also caused a downward shape to the tip of my nose. You tell the surgeon what you want, they also have photos of hundreds of nose shapes to choose from. The surgeon will help you make the right choice for the shape of your face. You will be very happy with the outcome after the swelling goes away!!
I have been watching RUclips videos for about 2 weeks now. I never really needed much makeup. I was a single mom of 2, and really did not have much time to put much makeup on every day. I was lucky enough to have good skin. I always put on eye makeup and blush. Now that I have entered my 50's... let's just say time & gravity! Lol I still have very good skin just have a few little creases, so I've been watching videos to see the best way to apply makeup for an older woman. I love every video so far that I have watched with Wayne. Trust me I have been watching a lot of videos! I do not get bored watching him, As I do with other videos. I always learn something very useful. I'm positive with time and practice I will have a great youthful look! Now that i wear everyday. If you need useful tips, that don't bore you the first 60 seconds you watch, he is your man! I also want you to know this is the first time I have ever posted a comment on anything! I am also getting ready to watch his other channel. I know I will be just as happy. Way to go Wayne! Thank you. Please keep the videos coming.
Hi, I know I’m incredibly late lol but I just had to comment bc this video CHANGED MY LIFE. Like you don’t even know how grateful I am for this because tbh I had body dysmorphia and my biggest insecurity was my nose. It’s kind of bulbous and bc of that I wanted to get rhinoplasty to try and make it smaller. I legit tried every kind of contour video and nothing worked and I was in such a dark place bc I didn’t know what to do. When I tell you that you not only saved me so much money, but you also changed my body image I mean it. Like you and this channel are a Godsend and I can’t thank you enough for this. I honestly love you and appreciate this video more than you know😭💕 🙏🏽 thank you from the bottom of my heart.
HausOf Arabia I HATE it though you don't understand it's my biggest insecurity that's why I'm so glad I have glasses. One day I'll travel to South Korea & get a nose job 😀
I know what you mean! I have a really small bump that my glasses hid but I know what you mean. My mom has a bigger one and I do her makeup a lot, what I've found works best is apply your contour shade over the hump. put it all over where the hump is or make two not so harsh lines where the hump starts and ends. hope this helps! (:
I was going to ask same question. All contouring showed is for the front view which you can't tell from the front if someone has a hook nose. I'd guess that instead of vertical line contouring you would have to contour horizontally across the hook part on the bridge to make it look like its smaller or receeding. Then hilight top and tip of nose to draw attention to those parts. I had a hook nose but had nose job 20 years ago to correct it. With my previous nose shape, I wouldn't of been able to hilight tip because my nose was hooked but also had a big hooked tip at the nostrils like a bird's beak which almost covered Cupid's bow area because it was long. No amount of contouring would of helped me👃🏼
Gaemer Elf I’m hella late but you contour the bottom and place your highlight more above than your tip would be. It won’t look right on side profiles but when you’re looking at someone the nose appear uplift
to show the final results he would have needed models with those specific nose types... not all contour techniques would have worked on his nose so it would have been pointless if he blended the contour
Wayne, this was so helpful! I have a flat AND wide nose, and for the longest time, was contouring with brown down the sides only, and was never happy with how it looked. By adding highlight at the top to balance out my wider alar it has REALLY helped. Feeling much happier with my nose contouring now! Thank you so much
Hey Wayne, Thanks so much for creating this video. I just discovered it as I'm trying to re-polish my makeup skills as a new mum. I tried your contouring technique for my own "triangular"-shaped nose, and it really works! I'm using a BYS Contour Trio powder (in Sassy for my olive skin tone). I love the fact that I can simply blend the makeup using only my fingers. Anything that saves time works for me! (Now I can go back and focus on taking care of my toddler.) XOXO
Wow, I've been doing mine wrong all this time. I have a triangular nose. Just contoured and highlighted how Wayne said to do. What a huge difference!!!
doesnt nose contour look a bit weird from some angles? (but looks good from front) is it just me? do i misplace it? or just didnt blend enough(cauese i feel like if i blended a bit more,it wouldnt realy do much)
yeah it's always going to look weird unless you do it very lightly.. and then there's not much point at all really, I wouldn't bother you've got a nice nose anyway
+Cyna monka I was going to post Aly Art's link as well, LOL! For those who haven't seen her nose contouring video, she uses concealer, highlighter and contour to replicate different types of noses. Then she shows how to "correct" them. She uses more of a scientific explanation (for lack of a better word...). Amazing! Not trying to discredit Wayne by any means; he's amazing in his own right, and I love him!!!
Does a bulbous nose mean a wide nose? I have a proportionate nose to my face but at the end I have a ball. When I contour regularly (neutral brown contour straight up my nose with highlight in the middle). It makes the ball at the end look huge.
The way you describe it kinda sounds like my nose. Try RUclips searching for videos on nose contouring for asians! Or use the african-american way, dragging two lines down the sides of your nose, but also covering the entire sides of your nostrils with contour. And whatever you do, NEVER highlight lower than the middle if your nose.
Rose CincyChic Mine is very rounded and large at the tip compared to the bridge so I think for me it's bulbous, probably for you too. I personally HATE my nose
+Stephanieknowsbest - that might work, so it covers the majority of the "ball" at the end. I'll have to try that out. Thanks! +devsox - I know how you feel. I'm mostly Native American and my family says that I got my nose from that part of the family. So, I guess I have to learn to love it. My mom had a large nose with a large bump at the bridge and she had to get a rhinoplasty to get it fixed. So I should be grateful I didn't get her nose lol. I think you are too pretty to hate your nose. It could always be worse . . . and It is a part of you . . .
I wish you would update this with models who have the actual nose issues and finish their blending so we get the full effect. It’d be much easier for us to know what look we’re going for. Thanks for all your hard work! It really helps the regular folks! Lol! 💓👌🏼
Where have you been all my life. I rarely wear(one foundation, blush and lip gloss)makeup because I don’t know how to apply but your videos are short and to the point. You give me hope to feel more prepared to do my own makeup. Thank you for sharing🥰
Great Video Wayne. Showing Pictorial description for each nose type would have made understanding much easier. am not sure what my nose shape is so its diffficult knowing which contour would suit me best.
Wow, thank you so much. To me, you are the first person EVER that naturally thinks of aaaall the different facial types. Thank you so much. Can you maybe link pictures on nosetypes? I guess we are all a bit lost without the extra bit of help. So I always feel that my nose is more the flat type.. but others don't think so.. it's confusing. Lots of love
What about a very long nose? I feel like mine droops at the end so that it looks really long. I generally just add some shade on the under side of the tip of the nose but im just making that up
Thanks Wayne, I've had a crooked nose for 20 years and I didn't know how to make myself look better. it seems to really stand out in photos but now I'm going to practice contouring my nose for a prettier me!😚😚👍You Always Rock!
my node is big as hell!! I can never get my nose contour right! so annoying. this helps... but knowing me, I'll still eff it up. lol. I need a makeup artist JUST for nose contouring ... lol
FINALLY a proper nose contouring tutorial that I can use! Especially helped because I'm a guy as well. One more question though, I have a triangular tipped nose with a heavy nose line. Do you advise mixing and matching contouring techniques or should I stick to fixing just one problem everytime? Thanks!
This was so helpful, thank you Wayne! ❤😄 I've never been able to get my nose contour to look flattering. I have a slightly upturned nose that's wide at the tip, and a small bump on the bridge, it's so tricky! So I'm going to play with a few of these techniques until I get the right shape. If I nail it I'll tag you on Instagram- going to find & follow you now! Loyal viewer here, I love your techniques, and your bio video was very inspiring to me! ❤ Hope you're having a great day!
Hmm from what I can see in your pic, maybe bulbous or triangle? Perhaps even a little pointy xD It looks pretty cute tho- I wouldn't worry about the top of your bridge cause it looks pretty slender. Okay not I feel like I'm getting too descriptive xD good luck
Wayne, I'm a 68 y.o. former business professional, who used to be very good with cosmetics. I no longer have the vision for it, nor the precise hand. I just watched your two latest vids on loving primer and "I was Wrong". I also watched "How to Contour the 7 Different Nose Shapes". I liked them all, naturally; as I believe you are a gifted teacher and I am a big fan. But wouldn't you think a lot of this stuff should be common sense? I'm not sure many people think these things through before they start their make-up. they just do what is the trend, whether it fits them or not! People need to be taught to THINK FOR THEMSELVES as well as techniques.
Great video! I have never gotten to know what is the best way to contour my bulbous nose so I’ve developed my own way of nose-contouring over the years but I’ll definitely try this one, too. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us (as always), Wayne. You’re the best.
Hello, there! I think your nose is triangular like mine... the contours for that nose shape seemed to bob the length of the nose and made it less obvious. Thank you for your wonderful tutorials. I've really learned a lot.!
THANK U!! Ive been looking forever on how to contour my triangular nose but it seems like most people dont have it except me haha. You saved my nose lol
an upturned/piggy nose isn't a button nose.. there's no much you can really do about that to be honest other than highlighting slightly lower than the tip to make it look less upturned but.. that said upturned noses usually look beautiful so I'd just leave it
+Penelope Doolittle It looks beautiful when face is not big and cheeks and everything is not big but when face has big facial features nose looks like pig nose really))))) or like button ))))
Just discovered you when I began using makeup. Thank you so much! This is some of the most valuable information for makeup I have learned about so far!!
Kazaaa Lola right. I have a round button nose. I want to have more definition in bridge .it's kinda flat but if I do it makes the end look bigger ugh so frustrating..cuz without any contour you see like no bridge from front view but side it has a cute upward curve
I have the exact same kind of nose shape that you have, this was a very helpful tutorial, I just commented on another one of vids and found this gem 4 years too late. Thanks Wayne xxx
This was so ridiculously useful. You taught me how to do my eyebrows yeArrrsssssss ago now I’m learning how to combine these techniques to contour my nose
So... I need no nose contour/that silly highlight dot some people put on. Lovely! Explains why the lady at MAC's counter did not do that, either. Thank you, Wayne!
My nose is crooked, hooked, triangle, and bulbous. Pray for me.
By some miracle I still managed to come out naturally pretty. I don’t get it, but thanks, hopefully I’m proof that you don’t need a button nose to be fabulous? lol

Very good idea
Ursa Minor Are u kidding, or does that really work?
Ursa Minor that sounds like a lot of unnecessary work...I would just try out each nose contour on your actual face and see what works best
@@luluangel8 that's MORE work and a waste of concealer
@@aida7212 well if you’re only doing it once to find out what works best for you, it’s not a waste.

It's called a Roman nose, and you highlight rather than contour using the second to last method. It's the one he called a heavy bridge nose.
Thanks Natalie. :)

what about a hook nose? 😭😭😭😭 I mean im okay with it from the front but from the side it's a no-no lol. Good thing my glasses cover it 😏😏👅
I'm the same way!!
In contour you play with "shadow", a hooked nose from the side is flesh and bones, you can't do anything so just love it the way it is
HausOf Arabia I HATE it though you don't understand it's my biggest insecurity that's why I'm so glad I have glasses.
No amount of contouring would of helped me👃🏼
What about a droopy nose. Or like if the nose tip is very close to the Cupid's bow.
then i'm sure you contour the very underside of your nose tip to lift it.
Nose job
La Dama del Caribe I did the tip nose job! Didn’t hold! Sad! 😂
Gaemer Elf I’m hella late but you contour the bottom and place your highlight more above than your tip would be. It won’t look right on side profiles but when you’re looking at someone the nose appear uplift
Too bad you didn't blend to show us the final result
right
to show the final results he would have needed models with those specific nose types... not all contour techniques would have worked on his nose so it would have been pointless if he blended the contour
I agree, perhaps a vid. for each nose shape? I'd watch more than one. 🙂
Soliaxie I’m having a hard time finding ANY videos on nose contouring that actually show them blending it out! If you find one please link for me!
I wish you showed pictures with every nose to show us what you mean by each shape.
Great video, but it would be helpful to see b&w sketches of the different nose shapes.
This is a great video! Maybe next time u can actually explain the nose shapes... like, what is a bulbous nose? What is it like???
You could google it....
Wow, I've been doing mine wrong all this time. I have a triangular nose. Just contoured and highlighted how Wayne said to do. What a huge difference!!!
Wayne whatever you are doing to hair and face it's just so balanced now. Keep the good work!
doesnt nose contour look a bit weird from some angles? (but looks good from front)
is it just me? do i misplace it? or just didnt blend enough(cauese i feel like if i blended a bit more,it wouldnt realy do much)
yeah it's always going to look weird unless you do it very lightly.. and then there's not much point at all really, I wouldn't bother you've got a nice nose anyway
contouring (hardcore) should be a technique for fotoshootings...
I have been waiting for this my entire youtube life
check channel AlyArt, she has amazig serie about contour, noses too
Just checked her channel out . Thank you :)
That's exactly how my nose is. The ball looks huge compared to the bridge :/ But judging from your profile pic you're gorgeous so don't even worry
I appreciate the compliment love,
The way you describe it kinda sounds like my nose.
This channel is gold.
I'm happy. I have a perfect nose 👃 for my face
Good for you mines rank aha
yours looks good, too
you forgot the long nose and the short nose🤓
I generally just add some shade on the under side of the tip of the nose but im just making that up
You have the PERFECT nose
wayne for president!!!!. wawuuuu. I like your videos even before I press play
im a floral designer so i love seeing all the different arrangements in your home. beautiful.
Thanks Wayne, I've had a crooked nose for 20 years and I didn't know how to make myself look better. it seems to really stand out in photos but now I'm going to practice contouring my nose for a prettier me!😚😚👍You Always Rock!
Wayne, you’re the only one I trust
I’m here bc I’m so self conscious of my nose. I’ve always wanted that cute curve and small tip, but it’s just not in my genes 🥺
my node is big as hell!! I can never get my nose contour right! so annoying.
this helps... but knowing me, I'll still eff it up. lol. I need a makeup artist JUST for nose contouring ... lol
*nose
ha same. mines flat and wide and I hate it :(
just own it.
+Diana Lane i do own it but every now and again id like to contour my nose. dnt see a problem w that.
Jace smith ;-) neither do I. I wouldn't here if I did😂
FINALLY a proper nose contouring tutorial that I can use!
I really can't find my nose shape it's driving me mental, can anyone help?xx
Hmm from what I can see in your pic, maybe bulbous or triangle? Perhaps even a little pointy xD It looks pretty cute tho- I wouldn't worry about the top of your bridge cause it looks pretty slender. Okay not I feel like I'm getting too descriptive xD good luck
+Anna Banana thankyou so much thats helped alot x
wayne has a video where he explains each nose shape, it's called "HOW TO: CONTOUR YOUR NOSE - FOR ALL NOSE SHAPES!!!!!"
I can't find my shape either
jordanna chatwin hmm I think its big shape.
I think I have a bulbous nose? I'm not sure but I HAAAAAATE it. The tip is rounded and much larger then the bridge so I'm pretty sure it's bulbous
Same , and I hate it so much!!! Thanks dad lmao
Bugs Bunny Haha I got my mine from my dad too! My mom and brother have small perfect noses. So jealous I didn't get my moms nose. Thanks dad! lol
+Bugs Bunny same!!!!
+devsox1 wow this is literally me!!! lol
That's me too. I got it from my grandfather. I hate my profile because of it. I'm pretty sure it's bulbous.
Dude I hate my nose so much but I can't do this because I have big pores and it looks really weird if i put dark make up on it ._.
Wayne, I'm a 68 y.o. former business professional, who used to be very good with cosmetics. I no longer have the vision for it, nor the precise hand. I just watched your
two latest vids on loving primer and "I was Wrong".
I've got a deviated septum and I'm proud! ;P
I have one too and I can't breathe worth a crap out of it. I really want to get it fixed. Just so I can breathe. Lol
How do I know which type of contour product works best for me? Liquid, cream, powder, stick?
creams and sticks are best to start with IMO
I have a short, upturned, nose with s bulbous tip
Alpha Q yes this is me!!!
Same
Courtney, me too ! I have no clue how to fix that bulb at the end of my nose....it’s funky !
Courtney Baxter tropico!! (Your icon) I love lana too
wow u r so blessed
Hello, there! I think your nose is triangular like mine... the contours for that nose shape seemed to bob the length of the nose and made it less obvious. Thank you for your wonderful tutorials. I've really learned a lot.!
My nose isn't perfectly symmetric so a wee bit of light highlight always help bring out what I need and tone down what I want to hide. Great video.
THANK U!! Ive been looking forever on how to contour my triangular nose but it seems like most people dont have it except me haha. You saved my nose lol
I have a triangle nose too! xx
+Wayne Goss I love you Wayne thank you so much this very helpful can you please teach us how to contour an asymmetrical face
Hopefully people learn from this and stop doing all the same contour. Drives me nuts. Great video Wayne!
What about an upturned / button / piggy nose? 🐷❤️
an upturned/piggy nose isn't a button nose.. there's no much you can really do about that to be honest other than highlighting slightly lower than the tip to make it look less upturned but.. that said upturned noses usually look beautiful so I'd just leave it
Zoe! I just asked the same thing. I've always hated my nose because it is upturned. I'd love to see how to correct it as well.
+Penelope Doolittle It looks beautiful when face is not big and cheeks and everything is not big but when face has big facial features nose looks like pig nose really))))) or like button ))))
that nose sounds adorable! ^-^ xD
Lol pug nose u mean
You're such a kind man. It shows in so many of your statements. Your work is outstanding, thank you!
narrow nose with a heavy bridge here. this has helped so much!! thanks Wayne!
How can I differentiate a bulbous from a wide nose? I feel like I have both. Its so tricky
Here, here, I'd like to know, too! 😀
I don't even know why I'm watching this, I don't even contour my nose
Anicha HC same. i just found him and i'm watching every video, he is so interesting
Wayne, what about a beak type nose, so to speak like some American Indian noses?
me too 😂
You must be fortunate to have a nice nose. 🙂
so i got a bulbous triangular and flat nose. kill me now
Just discovered you when I began using makeup. Thank you so much! This is some of the most valuable information for makeup I have learned about so far!!
This has to be the best nose contouring video, minus blending the lines out. Thanks!
What if you don't know what nose you have 😢
What if someone have flat nose with big nostril ?????
what about button noses?! Dx
Button noses are cute!!
Jacklyn of all trades yeah but they're hard to contour
What about wide noses?
Triangular or flat
My nose starts normal has a really weird thick bone right where in starts and then is thick because of the bone kill me idk what to do
i have same this type of nose and i hate it
It's cartilage. Noses don't have bones in them...
Thanks for uploading. I hate my face, especially my nose.
not sure why, your face is beautiful you've got a baby face and your nose compliments it
Are you the female in your picture?
If you're in the picture you legit so pretty
Thank you guys. ❤️ yes, I'm the female in the picture.
insane you would think you are ugly. absolutely insane. you really need to work on that because here is a fact: you are STUNNING
So... I need no nose contour/that silly highlight dot some people put on. Lovely! Explains why the lady at MAC's counter did not do that, either. Thank you, Wayne!
Wayne, you showed me how to contour my nose, which is bulbous. Amazing results. I can't thank you enough. Thank you!
