Look at about 10 other instructional videos and they sucked so bad that I was spewing a massive stream of obscenities.. thanks for slowing down the process and explaining it well!

if you finish this knot at 1.35 it has an excellent feature. If you pull the two strings the big loops will thighten until the whole thing comes apart. However if you insert something in the loops, they'll thighten around the inserted objects and you can keep the loops tight by tieing a reef knot with the two tigthly pulled strings. The top loop will stay fixed. The genius is, speaking as a former scout, is that you can cuff junior scouts with the big loops and use the small fixed loop to hang them on a high coat hanger XD

Thanks! I found this knot to be very confusing and the other videos out there didn't help. Yours was the clearest explanation I found.

Can you carry the bottle jus by the loop instead of all the 4 cords, or that would loosen it? Maybe it would need a square knot on the other two cords just to prevent it?

This knot can be used on anything with a round shape. A double half hitch will slide sideways. The video misses the point of the knot by using a bottle with an edge on top that secures the rope. The knot works well on round glass bottles or a round pole if you tighten it hard.

thats a english sack knot, used by sailors to close their seabag with spare clothes etc, theres a much easier way to do it that only take about 1 second, but its almost impossible to catch on vid how its done, it has to be taught in person (and even then most find it impossible to follow lol)

And then you wind it up here and through the 2 strands and up though the top, wtf?, How about getting to know the knot before you try to teach it.
