- Hey Everyone! Welcome back to our RUclips channel. In this video, I will take you through the complete process for rebuilding a Broil King Signet grill from start to finish. The process here will be very similar if you have a Crown, Monarch, Regal, Baron, Gem, or any other OMC grill (Sterling, etc.)
I will go in-depth with each part of the process and demonstrate how you can save money by taking the te to repair your propane/gas grill versus simply buying another one. After all, if you buy a new grill you still need to assemble it. you might as well keep some of that hard-earned money in your pocket, and get the satisfaction of knowing you were able to breathe new life I to an existing purchase.
The process seen here will work for Sterling / OMC manufactured grills, and the basic principles I demonstrate will carry over to many other BBQ manufacturers as well.
In this video we replace:
Burners
Flav-R-Waves & dividers
Cooking Grinds
Trim Ring & Thermostat

I own 3 Broil kings. 6 BBQs in total. One of my Broil kings needs repairs. Cheers from BRANTFORD Ontario
Thanks for the kind words!! With the price of literally everything these days, this is the way to go! Personally for me repairing them is satisfying and saves money! Can't beat that!
@@RegsChannel absolutely. You are 💯 on that
Great video. I appreciate the honesty and struggles. 20/20 is a great teacher. The grill looks amazing. Inspired to do mine now.
Thanks for the kind words! That's typically how I shoot most of my videos lol... The struggles are real! The refresh has held up incredibly well, I have a single burner porta chef on deck for the next video!
Great tips, thanks for the vid!!!
You are most welcome! Happy grilling!
Great video. Thanks
You are most welcome!
On the "Broil King" plate rather than replace ... hit it with high temp paint. Looks great last and you get to pick your colour.
Some great advice! Thank you!
Thanks for this video! What can be the problem if I can only turn on the gas/fire with a lighter? Thanks again.
When you turn the gas knobs, do you hear the gas? If the BBQ only ignites with a lighter then your igniter likely needs replacing.
I only get a year out of the replacement "OEM" collector box, it is no where near the quality of the factory collector box that was trouble free for 5 years. Quality parts matter
I hear ya! I've tried generic components in the past and definitely YMMV...
Replace the warming rack; don’t be cheap; you will enjoy it rather than the rusty rack.
You know we very seldom use the warming rack, I did give it a good cleaning and oiled it and for our purposes it's holding up well. A year after the fact the grill has held up perfectly. I am very happy with the investment!
I am surprised you didn't need to replace the grease tray. Mine is totally rusted along with the burner bolts and the other components you replaced. I will try the socket on the burner bolts, but I believe the rust has mounded over the top of the bolt.
The socket was a gamechanger for me lol! Perhaps some penetrating oil and vice grips?
I have the same problem with my 5 year old Broil King Monarch 390, the burner screws are rusted and cannot be undone. I have already broken off two screwdrivers and turned the screw heads round. I also wanted to replace everything as in the video. The rear burner is already new. However, I would not replace the cast iron grates with stainless steel, as the cast iron grates make a nicer branding on the meat. I will probably have to drill out the burner screws
Great job and I agree with you: Do it once and do it right so you can go another decade! Links to or at least a parts list would be helpful as I was surprised they still sold all the parts. Is there a BBQ parts place to go to on line?
Exactly! Thanks for the kind words! when you look at the cost of a mid range replacement grill they aren't cheap! I went through Luxe BBQ for my parts and they were incredibly helpful! I'll see what I can do in terms of a parts list
Look for any nearby Broil King retailer... They're everywhere... And they'll either stock the parts or order them from the factory for you.
I wish you would have shared what size socket for the burner bolts.
Oops, too hasty on the question. As my wife would say, “watch the whole vid!”.
@@mikenedrow1 lol, it's all good! Glad it helped!
I think I mention it in the video, I'll have to reference it and put it in the description!
Where did you order the parts from? I'm having a hard time finding the parts on the Broil King website. It looks like they have limited availability of certain parts.
Great question! I ordered from these guys: luxebbq.ca/ had everything I needed at a decent price as well! Good luck with the repair, it's well worth the effort!
Where did you buy the parts?
I purchased all of my parts from Luxe BBQ locally, however if I can locate my original receipt I can list all the part numbers in the description so you can source your own!
🤣 promosm
2:28 I think they're called "grates", not "grids", aren't they?
I just googled this I think the terms can be used interchangeably? Potato potato? Lol!
